The Cowboys have ridden into town topping Hogg Champions League and Hogg Elite after the first round with the Cowboys gunning down the Captain in the opening round. Scoring was high in the Champions league with former 18th ranked side DA HEAT not making any trades at all and somehow racking up 2301 points to hook in TEAM_FISH.

Top marks for the round went to eddieslittleindians who also topped Hogg Elite and Harrynuts who like the indians, topped 2400 for the round.

Six teams remain undefeated in the Champions league as a group of teams are already staking their claim on a finals place. For a league ranked so highly there were a couple of dud scores as DA HEAT, Ecky's Fevolas, Has Beens and spectacularly, Jays Jocks all lowered their colours and failed to crack the 2000 mark. It is always revealing whenever the jocks are lowered.

The best performer of the round was not for the first time, the Darksiders and Underdogs is another perennial power team who once again dodged a low scoring week. Harrnutts scored well to head the table in a solid performance from them.

Congrats to FISH who racked up wins in Champions and Elite leagues are looking like an easy mark in the pre-season and during the first week. Interesting to note that last year's Hogg Premier Grand Finalists Q and the Captain have yet to record a win in this league.

It's a tough school this one and a few teams got a pretty good score without getting the chocolates this Easter. Just like the Hawks, cyrilanddayle put on the razzle but missed out on the dazzle as wycbloods' 2267 wasn't enough to trouble Ecky's Fevolas who kicked a bag. The Cowboys managed to score 2234 but couldn't rope in a win against Buddy Franklin who spanked the Cowboys in a Brokeback Mountainlike manner. Not there there is anything wrong with that.

The unluckiest loser of the lot though was Harrynutts who got caught up in a squirrell grip by the Darkside who managed a slender two point victory. A few teams managed to get off the mark this week in REBCats, Q Before You and Blighty Teasdale but they only managed to maintain their piss poor ladder position rather than advancing on the top eight. Like I said, tough school.

Top teams eddieslittleindians, the Darkside and the Underdogs are all looking menacing at the moment and plenty of good teams will be watching on in August up here.
