I remember Jaensch he hit a ton and a 50 in the finals, but White Higgs? No idea who they are???..?? Its hard to say if they will hang around though, people do different things they want to spend more time with there friends, business opportunities, UNI studies and what not its to early to call whether they will stay around.

any further chat about a Hills super league with maybe 3 divisions, promotion and relegation? would be the best result for the areas cricket and the top div would be the best country comp easily in the state.

Only issue is the admin to make it work which is probably the biggest stumbling block

Yes some talent in that side and a long day for yours truly chasing the leather around Maccy oval last season during a big partnership between Jaensch and Hassold.
Was a lad I was real impressed with but I can't remember his name and he was a hard hitting left handed batsman and a very sharp right arm fast bowler.

Looks like the days of the Maccy Redbacks are over in A grade for a while given that B.Slack has pulled the pin and our captain Russell Trainor is going to be away for most of the season. Know that some people probably looked upon us as a bit of a joke but I felt that given a slight climb up the ladder last season and with a couple of decent players we could have fielded a very competetive unit. In regards to Slacky, truth be told, his heart wasn't in it anyway.

ODB: Sorry to hear that Maccy Redbacks won't be in A-grade level this summer. Reckon they were doing a pretty good job, even nearly pipped Wistow I think? Have heard whispers that Luke Tonkin from the Creeks may be fronting up with Meadows, who are keenly looking to go-back-to-back in HCA. With Haydn Reid also back in the mixture, Meadows will be again a formidable unit, and apparently the forecast is for no rain!

Cheers for that GD.
We did actually manage to beat Mt Barker and Wistow and ended up finishing just above those two on the ladder and the win against Wistow was significant given that Slack and Trainor didn't play in that match.
Will be interesting situation for the A&EH now as there will only be six teams in A grade and I couldn't see them wanting a comp with any less teams than that.

With numbers obviously struggling in TV and A&EH, isn't it time the 3 regional associations get together and form one big competition similar to the HFL. Would provide a very strong competition and if done on a divisional, promotion-relegation format, would be sensational ... match all the strong clubs against each other, while given others the change to play against their own standard and build towards the top tier. The concept was mentioned in The Courier previously, but I reckon the ideal may well be reaching the time to be given serious consideration.

as mentioned above, agree.

How many A grade teams in TV? Hills there are 9...A&EH 6. If there are 6 in the TV then its a simple 2 divisions of 10 or 11 teams. All the B grade and other teams can still remain in their local association and play for the former A grade trophy so these is still that link to the original association...just a thought

bringing the 3 leagues together wouldnt be clever...a lot of the teams from a&eh and TV wouldnt be competitve, the only ones that would be competitive from a&eh would be hahndorf and langhornes and how many people would come from langhorne creek would go all the way to happy valley to play cricket???

once a year wouldnt be an issue surely - those that wouldnt be competitive have a chance in Div 2 to rebuild, win a flag and have a crack at the higher level...

Bridgey out SCIB in IMO, although SCIB are ageing

former first class (& aussie) cricketer played a few seasons back and said the HCA A grade was equal to C grade district level....this format would only enhance the competition to a higher level

Yes forgot about SCIBS. Bridgey are a young side, could be a threat in years to come. SCIBS have lost the services of Shane Mohor who moves to Hahndorf. SCIBS bowling attack should be pretty weak this year.
