Coaches for 2011

Thought I would start this thread to see what clubs are reappointing current coaches or looking for new blood.

No, Darren told the players last week that he wouldn't be going around next year (job was his if he wanted it as I understand). As for Bangers I dont know what the go is there, all I know is that he does want to coach whether its at the Hills or not is anyones guess.

as for my club Portland Andy Lipson was a care taker coach for the second half of this year and has done a great job. last year and for the start of this year he has been commited to coaching ports under 16s which only goes for something like 9 rounds which allowed him to take the care takers role. i speak for all the players when i say we sincerly hope he takes the job again next year but that would mean he has to cut ties with the magpies which he will have to make a decission on what he wants to do.

i have seen a few clubs adverising for A and B grade coaches, Port Districts in the weekends does that mean the care taker coach in Foster is either not going on or just seeing who is out there?

you would have the think that Foster has to go in order for that club to improve. get new players to the club, and keep a few there who are thinking of leaving, etc

Phil Harrison announced 2 weeks ago to the players that he wasnt going on next season. This is to allow Modbury the most time possible in finding a replacement and to not provide a distraction to the players fighting to make the finals. Phil has been coach for the last 3 seasons and delivered a Div 2 premiership!

I would personnaly love to see Andy Lipson stay on as the Portland Head Coach next year regardless of outcome. I think our B grade coach is sorted and the C grade not sure what is happening there yet. I think if the already standing coach of whatever grade be given the opportunity to go on unless they have made no positive impact on thje club or side in any way. The club that does advertise for coaches does owe itself the opportunity to do so if it means that the right person with the best ability applies.

As i said earlier i hope Andy stays and he and Jones can get the club i the same direction in all grades. I know the prospective C grade coach next year does ;)

As you can gather Darren Beer isnt going around next year at Para Hills, 5 years as senior coach, 2 grand finals, 1 premiership, 5th last year, I would think this would be one of the most interesting and challenging A grade positions available for 2011 and beyond.

Was Darren Beer a former player at Para Hills? Rekon i played against him in the 2000 GF. If its him was a handy player and obviouly by his record a pretty good coach too!

Would be Danny Ryan.

I know that steve symonds of plympton isnt looking for re appointment next year so the dogs will be looking for a new coach. Steve a very good coach but probably better suited to a higher level of footy.
