South Adelaide recruiting

Postby TigerBoss » Thu Nov 10, 2005 12:53 pm

SANFL club South Adelaide continue to explore the possibility of enticing South Fremantle midfielder Theo Adams to the club for next season.

The Panthers have had discussions with Adams and are working with the Bulldogs to work a transfer deal.

It is believed Adams is considering playing in the South Australian League after starring in the Bulldogs premiership this season where he kicked four goals to be one of his sides best.

The major hiccup for South Adelaide is that Adams remains under contract with the Bulldogs and must work a deal with them along with convincing Adams to cross the border for the midfielder to line up with them in 2006.
Is 2009 the year of the Tiger?

An earlier footygoss report had him as a key forward. :? I think a few other clubs including Sturt were in discussion with him too or rumoured to be....this was 2 weeks ago or so...

Course we have. There's no harm in recruiting a couple from over the border. But this year South need to find a better balance between interstate recruits and giving the local players a go, because over the last few years it hasn't worked.

Must be talking about the players Stan, most of their supporters aren't around for any of the season.

When south were doing ok they had a few supporters around the traps making some noise. But then it all went pair shaped and they were gone. I hope they hang around for a bit longer this season.

After the Apocalypse the only survivors will be cockroaches and Norf supporters.

Despite the castigation (not what they did to Tigersrus), that South has copped (mostly on the chin) you might note that we are not the ones flashing the chequebook this year.
That would be some clubs on the far side of the plain.

Any South supporters have any information about the earlier topic on this forum "South problems"? Which was alluding to a destructive group of past players that perhaps believe they are doing good at Noarlunga.
Just interested because I reckon just about any team could have had South's list last year and made the finals, except for South. Centrals proved the Port formula to be true when they set out to create a stable board that gave the coach 100% support, and turned it into success. Perhaps the infrastructure is being torn down before it has a chance to get established at Noarlunga, continually. In other words, rather than trying to buy players, give them a club to play for and then see what results you get. I have been through some tough times as a Sturt supporter, I know what I am on about here, so if any of the above relates to South I will gaurantee that we have located your problem.
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

If you have some younger players that are out there and willing, then play them in the league side. At this point there not ready, mainly because of the recuriting over the recent years. Hence your going to feel some big pain, but it has to happen.
