North South divisions versus the status quo

Postby Esteban Vihaio » Fri Nov 28, 2008 8:02 am

Everyone has an opinion, but how do the numbers stack up?

Random thoughts include
- Would the conference system encourage the city and even urban sprawl teams from the SFL joining the SAAFL?
- If conferences were adopted, would an 8 team division (top four) be a way of ensuring an even playing field in each division?
Where's Bill? Yeah... Hmm... Bill is on the Villa Quatro, on the road to Salina. I will draw you a map.

EV ...

Please don't used that god awful Seppo sh1t term - it will always be divisions, not conferences.

Conferences are for lazy businessmen and sales reps, and should not be associated with sport!

Fair enough to call the conferences. The divisions are within the conference.

This has been done to death already. General consensus is that it would weaken the league by making the divisions more uneven.

At the minute it's not to bad the travel evems itself out over the years. I would expect if SAAFL and SFL combined (Won't happen) things would need to be reviewed.

I have one thing to say to those that want to play teams a short distance from their own club. HARDEN THE F**K UP. Go and speak with some of the country clubs who travel 100 + Kms each week to play footy then turn around and go home.

moron the reason to justify there position doing nothing. Do you really think they care what we think anyway

As a country boy who just wanted to pose a question to garner some debate, you should listen to your own advice about hardening up. If opinions can't be sought anew, you should petition that no new users be let on the site. And if you don't think the topic worthy, perhaps you could find something better to do with your time.

Yeah, but the debate had happened already. At least wait more than two weeks before starting it up again.

I am a country lad aswell and it sh*ts me to tears the amount of bitching some players do about the amount of travel to play a game of footy.

this topic is one of my pet hates and the other is behind the play incidents so don't get me started on that either ;)

Not an issue of being tolerant but if anyone can come up with a stupid idea or another way of cocking something up that is not broken just to justify being there in Tynte Street - we have our happy little bunch in place. Have to let em kno now before they make another stuff up with something that aint broken. Not lettin them kno now only means disaster on there current form
