Iron Mans revised top 10 in S.A

Postby Iron man » Mon Jun 09, 2008 9:25 am

As a general rule i select horses not drivers when having a punt, but heres who i look favourably on in order of preference. Anyone who thinks S.A only has three good drivers is a bit of a twit if you ask me.

1. Paul Cavallaro
2. Anthony Robinson
3. David Thuen
4. The Lone Ranger
5. Danielle Hill
6. Greg Rogers
7. Mick Norman
8. Mark WebsDERR
9. Wayne Hill
10.Golden Boy Harding (and sliding)

I rate a driver by his/her ability to read a race and to drive the horse according to its ability.
Iron man, you have got the first nine pretty much in the right order.

Bayman,
im not too sure who rossie is, sounds a little bit girly though.

Warrior,
Lui is a lunatic but at least he's consistant, i would rate many drivers before Lui. And as per my list i have Peanut Butter in at 10th spot, the point i was trying to make on my list is that he is well below 9th spot. Its pretty difficult to submit such a list as opinions vary greatly, the fact is many drivers are capable of driving a lot of winners if they jump behind some quality horses. A competent driver who kisses alot of ass will have more success than a better skilled driver who lacks people skills. An ass kissing driver has the ability to run stone motherless last and still make the trainer feel good about it " if i had only got out i would av killed em " etc etc.

Well done Iron Man as this site has been a bit tame lately and your garbage has at least livened things up.

You're obviously not a punter though because no-one except his wife would have Paul Cav as the best driver and rank Greg Rogers and Michael Norman in the top 7 above Mark Webster and Ryan Hyhorec.

G,
i am a punter and dont try and tell me you wouldnt back a horse being driven by anyone in my top ten, they are all competent and P.Cav would be one of the safest drivers going around. I really dont think Ryan is that good i have him in tenth spot and there is no shame in that is there ? There is very little between the top 5 but i would not have Ryan or Mark in my top 5 - just my opinion.

Nothing personal HEY BAYMAN.

that's fine as it is an opinion, but when you add 'girly' (or anything derogative) that is where the line is drawn

Spot on G!!!!!
If he wasn't related P Cav Not sure he'd be the still driving for golden grove trainers.
Not the worst driver out there G Rogers, can be too aggresive at times.
Mick Norman is at the other end of the scale, too negative nearly every drive. The seas nearly have to part for him to win. The positive too that is he looks after his horses and doesn't gut them, leaving something in the tank for next week. But a top driver knows when its time to bite the bullet an have a crack and win the race.

Would of thought Jock Dunlop would rank up there. Infront of PC GR MN at least.
