Bayman have you been hiding under a rock or something. Its common knowledge the players Norwood have lost for 2008 plus their footy manager [I think that was J.Masons title].
The only positive I can see for the Legs is that their pokie venue- Nor East, is going pretty well and will only get better.

I think having over 4 million in the bank after making a huge profit on the shops at the Parade could be regarded as a positive too.

Oh dear...bored already Bayman??? and the off-season has hardly started

I'm sure someone can have a word with Jamie for you about not consulting you before he made his decision to change jobs  For goodness sake people move on, their ambitions change, they get better offers and they become too old/injury prone to keep playing...happens in every sport and if and when anyone at Norwood decides to leave I'm sure they will announce the fact when THEY are good and ready.

And I thought it was us women who were supposed to thrive on rumour and gossip

Only slightly off topic but I saw that Westies were advertising their Football Operations Manager role too, I would have thought if that job hadn't been filled for at least the last month than West and/or Norwood would be on the back foot as far as recruiting goes as most clubs would have had their Footy Operations Managers put in the hard yards already for most of the recruiting for next year?

More to it than that though JAS ... No question Norwood have some serious issues both on and off the field, although many sitting in high places off field would dismiss it and think otherwise.

The club will lose a swag of players which realistically don't have the ability to play in a premiership team, so can't criticse the club for that (provided it's done in the right manner) but Im nervous that there will also be some collateral damage and a few you would like to see hang around might also head off.

More heartache ahead for Legs fans I think ... Not much point having the moola if you're not prepared to face hard questions and make philosophical changes ... Here's hoping the club can respond in successful fashion, but I for one won't be holding my breath.

Connie, I don't deny for one minute that there will be collateral damage or that the club/board will have some tough decisions to make...that's the nature of the beast and I'm sure the other clubs will have similar decisions ahead too. I admit my post was probably a bit simplistic, was trying to make the point that bayman, me, or anyone else for that matter do not have a right to be privy to any discussions at any club about anyones future, no matter how much we might want to know. Norwood may be changing but to suggest that it is 'self descructing', as the thread title does, is ludicrous.

Surely you mean Norwood, not West?

There's not too much of the money left after the Nor East was built and substantial debts were retired. Lucky to be seven figures left over I'm guessing.

As a longtime supporter of Norwood, i've attended about 5-10 games a year for the last 15 years and I love my local footy,
in that time i've seen some highs and some lows, the only thing thats laking in recent times are the results on the field, even recently when Norwood have won the culture around the club has been fantastic, If the club can stabilize the money situation and bulid some decent clubrooms at the parade the culture and the success for Norwood will improve 10 fold, you only need to look at what North went through and what they achieved when everyone collectively pulls together.

Go Leggies. :)

In view at the sad and inconsistent form of the last few years it looks like some degree of clean out of those who were not totally committed to making Norwood a winning club was well overdue. The initial pain will hopefully pay off as the rebuilding proceeds, now that there is cash flow.

Last year it looked like we either had to keep turning over coaches or back one of them and do some house cleaning.
