Barrie Robran SA State Tie

Postby haze.13 » Sat Sep 29, 2007 10:00 pm

Just thought I'd let the SA Footy folk know about a bit of footy memorabilia that is on ebay this week. (Closes next Saturday evening)

Authentic SANFL State tie worn by North Adelaide's Barrie Robran. Includes certificate of authentication signed by Barrie Robran.

The great Barrie Robran's SANFL State tie (with authentication) is available. I've been in possession of this tie for a number of years now, after successfully bidding for it at a fundraising auction. But the time has come to part and I'm sure it'll be welcomed into a loving Rooster's (or just an SA footy lover's) household.

We all know what a legend Barrie was and still is with his continuing involvement at the North Adelaide Football Club. Good luck if you decide that this is for you.

Hmm - interesting I have a Barrie Robran State Rep Tie (and a Neil Kerley one as well for that matter).

I'm waiting for the thinner look to come back into vogue!

Sorry Wedgie. That should read 'SA State' tie I guess?

I know he represented SA a number of times at the National Carnivals as they used to be called. I'd assumed they'd refer to these as State of Origin but yeah you're right. I'll edit it if I can.

Btw congrats on the cats today!

Barrie played in the 1969 and 1972 carnivals. That tie is not from those years. If anything it would be from the time he was a state selector in the 1980's. The SANFL logo is a give away for a start.

Spot on LL - the tie I got was his selectors tie from the 80's.
