Round 4 v Carlton

Talk on the national game

Any other day, losing to Freo, Syd, Mel would be absolutely unacceptable.

But look what Freo managed today, Melbourne strung a few weeks together and are finally picking themselves off the floor and Sydney are def on the way up.

I'm devo because i really thought genuine premiership chance, but now I realise we are on the rebuild path which means down.

We won't finish top 4, we may sneak into the 8, but I still think we have some great footy ahead of us.
Starting Carlton... the club is too proud.

Not at all. Just don't really feel the need to have a crack at everything with a heartbeat down at the club. It ain't gonna change anything and you can bet all and sundry already feel pretty shithouse.

Me ranting and raving on a fan board isn't going to help the situation in anyway.

No we don't... it's pathetic!

But I don't see how at Round 3, sacking everyone would solve everything.

Would hate to see the Crows become like a Richmond. Once you start sacking senior players, coaches, etc your club loses all sense of stability. You become this laughing stock at the bottom of the ladder with a losing culture that takes years to get out of.

Geez some of you blokes are MORONS.

Carlton got spanked by a shithole Essendon side. We suck. No questions. We can't beat Adelaide.
We couldn't beat Adelaide, if you blokes gave us a 10 goal lead.

Judd NEVER plays well against the Crows.

The only thing I'm looking forward to is going onto the ground at half time to help with Auskick.

You blokes will win. Easily.

Adelaide by 32 points.

Look numb nut, the season start and the types of performances are UNACCEPTABLE to any supporter.
The season is a marathon, not a sprint and wholesale changes (including the coach) aren't going to rescue the situation.

Out of the "oldies" today, two were very good (Burton and especially Goodwin).
Macleod was average and Edwards was terrible.

But you want to sack all 4, gee what a great footy mind you have.

our next premiership will not contain these guys in the side so why have them there? Ohhhh....so we can finish 5th again and say WELL DONE and pat everyone on the back!
Sure Goodwin had 30 touches but did you see what his opponent did? obviously not!

While you might be right about your next flag not containing the four *ahem* elder statesmen, if you ditch them all at once you'll end up like Richmond after the 1982 season and they are still in the wilderness.

The only way Adelaide wins by 32 is if Carlton don't score. It will be a really close game either way for mine.

Only good thing is Shirley won't be shadowing him next week. But still, we'll get done. Adel by 17.

Mind you, we never seem to play the MCG well - and I expected to lose to Essendon. I'll expect to lose this week. That way I don't get disillusioned too much.

What I was getting at is that both forward lines are strugling so I don't see a five goal margin. I will agree with you tho SJABber...the Blues are carp!

Exactly REB you cant throw the kids to wolves it doesnt work, you play them around experienced heads and yes the results may not come but the experience they learn will put them in a better position than copping 100 point hidings week in week out

Patty Dangerfield has been cleared of neck fractures thankfully. He's still staying in hospital for another day for further tests. Hopefully it's only a week or two at the most.

Reckon Tippett will be the same with a sprained ankle, only a week or two hopefully.

Hentschel is done I reckon, you just can't carry a bloke that has the potential to be on the bench by quarter time. Fair enough to take a risk if he was one of your marque players, but he's not.

Bock is a pretty big worry, hopefully Stevens & Johncock will be back this week to cover his loss.

On the club website today:

Adelaide hopes to have some experienced players available to help cover the likely loss of four more injured Crows.

Nathan van Berlo (hamstring/back), Graham Johncock (thumb) and Scott Stevens (concussion) are all expected to train with the main group this week and could be available to play Carlton at AAMI Stadium on Saturday.

Stevens pulled out of yesterday’s clash with Melbourne because of the lingering effects of concussion suffered in round one. van Berlo trained on the weekend and Johncock is now ready to move into full training.

Of the group injured on Sunday, at this stage Bock is the only one ruled out of the Carlton game. He has a slight strain of his left hamstring. Kurt Tippett (ankle) and Trent Hentschel (knee) are considered doubtful . Patrick Dangerfield was last night cleared of neck fractures but was to have more scans today.

That's great news for Dangerfield. I thought we going to see another Sasche incident there at one stage.

It's a bit of a coach killer game this one. Whichever team lose, the coach will be copping even more than they have already.
I'm a bit pi$$ed that this game is up against the Sturt game as there's no chance of me missing a SANFL game for an AFL game.
Crows by 14 pts I reckon.

Lol but not totally correct, considering we're averaging 59pts per game the Blues can score 4.2 before our 32pt margin is in danger. ;)
