How's the umpiring today fellas, compared to that debacle at Prospect on Saturday?

Looks like the Betfair link is broken .. unless it's still $2.54 and $1.60 but I reckon it would have changed by now

Great forward pressure by Byrnes then, something the Hawks were doing earlier. I can't see Hawthorn getting back into this. Another strong finish by the Cats.

The umpiring has been great today, not sure how many 50m have been paid but there can't have been too many? The 25m count at Prospect was close to double figures by half time I reckon.

What an effort by Renouf today. Just ran out of petrol in the end and Otto got us home. The Hawks still don't have anyone to stop the gorillas and Mooney got four and Otto took some telling contested grabs in the second half.

A great return by Cyril Rioli today - the boy can really play. A nice second up effort by Mitch Duncan as well who unlike Barlow, is a teenager. Massive future ahead for that lad. Another key to this match was Cameron Ling shutting down Sammy Mitchell who had 21 possies by half time.

The Cats a bit too strong in the end but the Hawks not disgraced today in a cracking contest.

Agreed REB- Even a Skipper or Taylor may have been the difference. Poor old Twister could barely get his arms above the shoulder at the end.

Also Taylor and Lonergan did great jobs down back- Buddy may have been a bit rusty but he needs to be towelling Lonergan if we are to threaten this year.

Great to see Cyril back, will be better for the run.

In the end, Cats a bit too polished when it counted (much to my frustration  ), and a few of our blokes similarly went missing. I was happy with our tackling and effort- Ladson for one will be a sore boy tomorrow.

Doesnt get ay easier- Bullies next week. Can see us either lifting further, or having a major letdown. Hopefully the former...

Ling tagged him 2nd Half, only got the one touch in the last quarter. Was very influencial in the first half thought, instrumental in the Hawks great start.

great game, probable going to be 1 of the best games of the year. Cyril Rioli is a star, that step he put on Enright was so good. He did it as if Enright wasn't even there. I will never get tired of seeing that again and again

hawks and cats hav had so many classic games over the past 3 seasons and it looks like continuing for this season aswell maybe even deep into september again. to me ablett was fumbling the ball all day and getting caught holding the ball like 3 times but still racks up like 38 touches. thought lonergan did a gd job on buddy after qtr time will help his confidence for the future that he can stand on a big name forward and do well.
