It is quiet .... my predictiions for season 2010

1. Uraidla - too strong, seem to have kept the same squad
2. Mt Barker - what do people think about this??? had a good return to form late last year plus a few handy inclusions - bit of a roughy?
3. Blackwood - generally always around the mark
4. Handorf - lost a couple, team full of individuals
5. Onka's - seems a bit quiet but may be a good thing, will probably underachieve as per usual
6. Mt Lofty - lost a few, may find themselves not playing in finals. thoughts?
7. Birdwood - heard have signed a few more from town, plus young blokes will only get better
8. Ironbank - not sure about the thunderers
9. Bridgewater - should look forward to playing lobethal again
10. Lobethal - enough said

Any thoughts?

From what I've heard, I'd probably switch Blackwood and Mt Barker, but I agree with the rest.

1. uraidla i agree with will be very strong again...
2. blackwood will challenge uraidla this year i think
3. lofty think will cover their losess with who they have picked up
4. onkas will improve but go out in straight sets in finals like usual
5/6. hahndorf to scrape in the 5 coz they will never field a full strength side with people o/s not playing etc
5/6. barker will improve a bit but dont think 2/3 players coming into the side will make a huge difference
7. birdwood will go alright for a half each game. wont play finals until they can play a whole game of footy
8. ironbank will brag for the whole season about beating one of the top 3 sides but still finish in the bottom 3
9. loby with there couple of in's should lift them off the bottom
10. bridgwater will get the spoon coz they deserve it..

As pathetic as ever boys. It's not good to see the attitude of some after a few good seasons. Obviously long forgotten are the years of Lofty being on the end of thumpings when I don't recall bagging them.

Spoke to a guy from Southern Eagles (Back to Back Premiers in the Yorke Peninsula League) who played Lobethal in a trial last week and Lobethal beat them quite comprehensively. He was speaking to some of the Lobethal boys after the game and was told that they've picked up 9 recruits from predominantly Norwood & North Adelaide. Not sure what level they have played and not saying they are going to make the 5 but they may not be the easybeats that they have been.

The Top 5 in no particular order will be Uraidla, Blackwood, Hahndorf, Lofty & Mt.Barker. Too early to know the impact the Mt.Barker recruits will have. 6-8 will be fought out between Onka's, Birdwood & Lobethal. The wooden spoon will be fought out between Ironbank & Bridgewater. Ironbank have never beaten Uraidla at A grade level and Bridgewater haven't beaten Uraidla since the 90's and both sides won't get near Uri's again this year. Both sides are a joke and with their sh*t house facilities and postage stamp ovals should be playing in Div 2. When they do beat Uraidla I might start paying them some respect.

This post shows the small period of time you've been around and managed to get a mighty big mouth with opinions to match. The ledger is in Ironbank's favour against Mt Lofty but I guess you weren't around pre 2006.

Why do you bother posting shit like this? Would you rather an 8 team comp? Wouldn't it be nice for us all if we had a bloke pumping fistfulls of strawberry coin into the playing group. With a hint of intelligence you would be impressed we can compete in Div1 without a town as its base and no wealthy blokes propping up the club. At least your giving the IB lads plenty of motivation...

WOW get with the thread DA.......we hate you...........
This year will be interesting, between us, I hope we can move around you easily, just by being local.
Think of next year, if you finish last as I expect, based on my research this will cause an issue for your club that I do not believe you could handle in your first year!!

1. Uraidla - agreed have basiclly the same side as last year, should stay top
2. Onkas - have had a complete clean out with alot of new faces, cant see them finishing the same as last year (either 2nd or 2nd bottom). Smashed both Edwardstown and Jervois bye 15 goals
3. Mt Barker - Not a huge ammount of recruits, but the ones they have are quality. Think Mt Ronnie may turn some heads this year
4. Blackwood - Good players but have always struggled to play as a team. 4th maybe harsh but i guess we'll find out
5. Mt Lofty - another good side but may just lack the talent they need go all the way. The coach has a hot wife though if that counts for anything!!!
6. Hahndorf - Not sure how many they've lost (except Cooper) but ive heard a few other have moved on (Dubois, Wyld etc). Jenner is a highly under-rated pick up (can play). Hope Pottsy can bring a bit of magic
7. Lobethal - I think Jezz has done some decent recruiting and think we will see a new Lobethal this year.
8. Bridgewater - Same as Lobethal some new faces but have lost DeVries and not sure they have a best coach in the league
9. Ironbank - Not sure if the Cheif is bringing some mates out but the bankers will need it. All they really have is Bradley, Wendleborn and Williams. They need more depth in this side the beat the best
10. Birdwood - Will struggle to get a B grade on the field with so many people leaving (including TJ). May struggle to win a game in 2010 and with TV coming to Div 1 next year it maybe bye bye Birdwood

Bridgewater talk themselves up at the start of every season and end it in the exact same spot as the previous year. Can't see them climbing too far up the ladder. Having said that, watching the trial I could only pick about 5 or so players from last years team so hopefully they can prove me wrong.

Heard a whisper that the chief has left the shed and accepted an offer to play for Portland. Only problem is, he owes the $10k sign on fee to Bankers and they won't clear him until the money is paid. (Unfinancial player means clearance denial). Any bankers keen to shed some light on this?

Scott March from Aldinga

No, found out his last name was Crabb.

As in Daniel crabb ie from Henley/west gambier. Top bloke and a massive unit. Glad to see him playing footy again.
