He has had a great career and considering he has played only 132 games but also won 6 flags in that total is a stat that 99 percent of footballers playing anywhere would love to have.
Piss weak SANFL and the CLOWNS who run it.

He will leave a bit of a hole in the centrals backline.

His tackle against Nick Gill in the first half against North in the GF, also reduced Gills impact significantly.
I think he'll miss playing on Grima as well.

Sibenaler got the aboslute most out of what he could as a footballer well done on a great career Evil.

I guess the positive is we should have enough salary cap room now for Backwell. ;)

In all seriousness this opens the door now for a young bloke called Nick White, imho was very impressive in the reserves last year especially considering for most of the year the ressies defence was very small and he carried a strong workload.

Its not panic stations just yet we still have Lawry, Hardy, Schell, Havelberg and White who can all play a tall defensive roll.

Maybe the central defenders are going to sandwich their opponents :D ;)

Congrats to Yves on a solid career with the Dogs.
Used to love watching the Kraut Connection when he and Aufderheide ruled in defence.
A quality individual and a solid defender who will be sorely missed.

As with the many players who have moved on over the years, his departure will give another player a chance to impress.

Wonderful player, I am sad to see him go.

...but he is replaceable...he gives a Ressies player a go.

Shame to lose him, especially without being able to give him some sort of farewell at the GF celebrations. Hopefully the club manage to get him to do a lap some game this season. Always did his job and rarely beaten.

He did start as a full forward, but it was the 2003 second semi that set him up. Was probably luck to get a spot (not sure if he was a late replacement for someone) but when Quinton Graham went down with a corky early he had to move onto Bradshaw and smashed him. Did a reasonable job in the GF but the semi was what got him in as a mainstay down back. From there he grew into one of the best CHBs in the comp.

Makes Justin Hardy that bit more important now. He looked good until he was hurt last year, hopefully he manages to hold down a spot for the season.

Make up your mind guys. Who is right?

I now get the feeling that the Doggies could finish out of the top 3 at the end of the minor round. The Gowans are a year older too...

Sorry, now I'm just being silly...(or am I?) ;)
