As I have said before and many have already said here, Craig is a great coach who will win us a flag. The players lost the game on the weekend, not Craig. End of story.
And until someone comes up with a valid alternative to Craig, the 'sack Craig' movement carries no weight whatsoever. I mean Terry Wallace FFS?? That's the funniest thing I've heard in a loooooooong time.
Good on ya Craigy, you've got the boys up and about and had a super year. Bring on 2010! :D
Pretty good post.
I can't say with any feeling of certainty, whether I think Craig will or won't win the Crows a premiership, I think that can only be answered when you get your cattle and system to a high enough level, which whilst presently close, is not there at the minute.
If Craig gets them to a Grand Final with a team that is legitimately good enough and then fails, only then can I think he wears criticism.
Sat nights game could have gone either way, and a great deal of Adelaide supporters somehow overlook the fact that Collingwood are a quality side, whoever lost that game was going to be devastated - As the Bulldogs were in 97, this time it was Adelaide's turn.

Both the above posts have my support.
I agree the players are not yet at the required level, but they are getting there, and Neil Craig did demonstrate his preparedness to change the game plan once the manpower to play a different style was there.
Perhaps he should have changed it sooner, but that is easy to say in retrospect.
I look forward to further development of the team next year.

Did Neil Craig drop ball and let Dick run into open goal? Did Neil Craig Hold onto Anthony in dying seconds?

If Anthony missed and we got up Neil Craigs a genius coach, a couple mistakes by the 'players' and hes a hack!

Neil Craig is a great coach, makes the most of the cattle he has. Look out in 2010

I'd rather finish 5th in a rebuilding year than outside the 8. Exposing the kids to finals (and many of them showed excellent signs this series) is of significant benefit.

Exactly. And by the look on some of those lads faces after the game on Sat says to me that they will be doing everything in their power to never let it happen again. I reckon this loss will spur the team on to much bigger and better things.

A bit like the look on their faces when they lost to Hawthorn in Roo's last game. They can't handle the pressure.

Chocco is an interesting comparison to NC actually

8-9 overall including 1-1 in grand finals (47%)

But from 1999-2003 (1st 5 years) he was 2-7 which is worse than Craigy's 3-6. Since 2003 he's 6-2 in the 3 finals appearances in the last 6 years.

Clearly you didn't read what was written. We're talking about the youngsters here. You tell me - did Tippett, Dangerfield, Mackay, Vince, Otten, Maric, or Douglas play in the 2007 finals series?

I think we should have got rid of Craig. He has had his chance. Looks like we will sneak into the finals again but dissapoint again when it matters.
