i must say it can be one sided some times. With 14 clubs that range from mid A1 standard to low A5 there can be some big winning margins. but there are some quality players running around in all teams. I just hope the clubs down the bottom can bounce back and be more competitive.

Sorry to be so forward and nosey (I understand if you don't want to make that info public), I am just wondering with all the rumours flying around why people are leaving Blackwood.

Is there a future for Blackwood in the Southern League? Or Ametuers or or staying in th Hills?

people are leaving blackwood because they arent happy with coaching appointments and there is alot of blokes who think the pres is a knob i believe he is only in it to get his name out there more

Does Reynella have a new coach, Dave Evans was mentioned from up north.
Shoes v Sharks game could be a Blackwood reunion by the sounds of it.

Yeah, the wineflies have appointed Dave Evans from Sth Clare as their new coach. His assistant will be Geoff Winton. Not sure what Evans will bring to the club. Havent heard much about him.
Mitch Portlock from willunga may be looking for a change after 3 flags in a row , and joining reynella!

Shoey, my mail is that you are having a red hot crack at an Adelaide based bloke playing in the Barossa. Its gonna cost you plenty of beer vouchers to get him to the shoes!

Dud, yes you hit the nail on the head there, but what he lacks in talent he more than makes up for with enthusiasm! Those blokes that work with him, what would they know anyway? They're all washed up themselves!

Good to see Geoff Winton getting involved in the SFL again although would like to see him back at the Hawks? Is Bob Hooper staying on with the Southern Hawks in 2007 and where did they pick him up from?

Heard nothing in relation to Cove sice there prelim exit......however big story from there this week..........They are on the lookout for a new coach after Porter resigns on them Tuesday night to take up the job Mead left with South Adelaide. So now Cove, at this late stage, looking for a coach......I would think it is a great job to take on, a young side thats made 2 prelims and a suburb that is growing by the second......anyone think of anyone they would target or anyone who would apply?

Ben Porter move

Postby Navy2005 » Fri Nov 24, 2006 4:33 pm

Interesting that Ben Porter is on the move to South Adelaide. I have played under Ben and he is a very good coach and football person. Interesting that SAFC didn't go for an ex SANFL/AFL player to take over that role (full time I assume). But it is good to see someone get the opportunity to step up to that level from outside the normal system. Good Luck Ben.

Have heard he is not going to South, I would assume that that means he is staying at Cove
