perhaps birdwood B grade could score a premiership seeing as no one wants to play in their A grade side?

What I have heard alarms me...

Josh Davis - Houghton Dist
Callum Boobs Bubner - Pt Lincon (work)
Dave Bradbrook - (Canberra) working
Ryan Oz Austin - Canada (work)
Luke Highfield - Payneham (hates TJ)
Justin J.C. Highfield - followed brother
Paul Magic Sumner - TTG
Rielly Harrison - Adelaide Uni / Payneham
Andrew Crinion - Paynham (mates out there)
Ben Acland - Paynaham
Shannon Purcell - Possibly Payneham
Tom Matoga - training at Hope Valley
Josh McGuire - Going with mates if most of his side leaves
Daniel Smith - possible move to Maccy
Big Robbie Rochley - Possibly back to Vic

Now this is a huge chunk of players to leave a side. Now a few are leaving for work, but I have heard a lot are sick of Recruits having their arses kissed most nights of the week form all and sundry and basically a coaching staff who are completely concerned with an A grade list rather than success with a total squad. Sniggers about some players abilities round corners! It seems the depth at The roosters is Zilcho!!! Many of the names mentioned have played A grade and 3 names have been Captains of the Club!

I thought A.Crinion was off the the Norwood Ressies this year???!?!
I doubt Daniel Smith, Acland, Purcell and a few of those lads would leave Birdwood. However there depth would surely be tested without Riley Harrison, Austin, Josh Davis etc.

wow.

this really screams of someone with quite the bee in their bonnet. Didn't get the chances you thought you should get under TJ? No coach is perfect that's for sure but i've played under far worse!

Players leave teams every year, and while guys like Davis and Austin will be missed, i'd be surprised if all those players you listed leave.

Heard a whisper of big news out of the raiders camp. Apparently signed an ex-AFL player who recently retired. He was close to signing last year. Anyone at Bridgey confirm this?

No disrespect by this about Birdwood coach, but isn't he just the face of the A grade, Heard most decisions are passed through via their Playing assistant. Maybe blokes don't like him, don't remember the name only heard whinges about it. think its Kreeky

That's funny given that Coco has ceased his involvement with the management of the club.

Can confirm Shannon Purcell is leaving to play Div 2 Amateurs (forget which club but Payneham would fit that)

Didn't they have an ex-AFL player, Matthew Kluzek, a few seasons ago but still finished near the bottom. Think the Raiders need more than that if they are to play in the finals!

Bridgewater will have a very strong side this year - they've got the money, and whatever else might be the case, their coach is no slouch when it comes to recruitment. Whether or not the team performs is one for the crystal ball, but I'm predicting an improvement - not a meteoric rise, but enough to get them over teams like Onkas, Mt Barker, Ironbank.

This is a fair call if I've ever seen one. I see your from Aldinga fisho, so you would know the new raiders coach right? Then you would know that Aldinga have been bottom 3 in the sfl for the last few years right, my point is coming...Then you would also then know that the new coach at Bridgy has recruited some from Aldinga, do you think this will help at all? It obviously worked at Aldinga when they are in the same position they were 5 years ago!

Long way to go. If he has an ex Afl player good on him but with what I've seen in the local leagues it will take alot more than One ex Afl player and some Aldinga rejects to sharpen Bridgewater up. I have heard of some of the coin they have been throwing around and lets just hope for their sake they get results.

I don't think your post had any substance at all is what I'm saying - and as for over Onkas and Ironbank, even Barkers - You surely must know alot more than everyone else on here

*shrugs* Aldinga had a bit of success, lasted precisely as long as the coach did. They were nowhere near as good as they could have been - they should have played finals in both 07 and 08 - but when you haven't won a game in four years, any road up eh?? Disappointing on the whole.

I was dodging around this point earlier but might as well say it flat out - I think Bridgewater are in exactly the same boat as Aldinga were, just with more $$$. Like Aldinga, I think they'll have a bit of success, more so because they haven't got the whole 'culture of losing' thing to contend with. Four years is a long time. The Onkas/Ironbank/Barker reference - just saying I think they'll be the best of a mediocre lot. They will certainly have the potential to do better.

I'm still confused at what "success" Aldinga have had in the last 4 years????? I wouldn't call beating the same sides success. And as for Bankers & Onkas being mediocre I completely disagree.

I don't even think you could begin to compare the two sides when from such different leagues. Hills central is alot different to southern. Southern is dead and has been for a long time now, they need something radical like Aldinga to get back to the top for it to become a recognised league again.
