It is with regret that the Woodville West Torrens Football Club announces the retirement of Ken McGregor after 83 League games with the Club.

In recent weeks Ken has made the Club aware that with growing work commitments and concerns over his body’s ability to continue to play at SANFL level, he has come to this decision.

The Club has worked tirelessly during this period to try and allay Ken’s concerns to no avail.

On the decision, McGregor said “I just felt it was time to move on and give some of the younger guys a go. I thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to finish my playing career at the Eagles as I love the Club and they will always be my Club. They are in good hands with Coach Michael Godden and have an exciting future which I will enjoy watching.”

Eagles Chairman, Kurt Slaven said that “Ken has been a magnificent servant of the Eagles since his debut in 1996. He has been admired by everyone at the Club in relation to the way he prepared himself and those around him for every match.”

The Club wishes Ken all the best for the future and hopes to retain him in some capacity moving forward.

Thanks

Chris Davies

And will be playing for the Eagles retirement home (Henley)

not many people would know that Ken suffered from concussion headaches from football and was probably one of the reasons his carreer has finished.....huge loss for us!

Every year its the same old story i've given up expecting to get anyone good - the no.1 criteria for Eagles recruiting is that they have to be either free or cheap.

Sadly for Norwood, both Darren Pfeiffer and Cleve Hughes have signed for Southport Sharks on the Gold Coast...

Not much chance of getting Free, he retired years ago.
Maybe you should look at the umpires for that one.

Have physically sighted information that suggests Jack Fosdike is still at Glenelg.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

For those wondering WTF I'm talking about and DW's laughing comment when this was first raised last week as a possibility, take a look at this. 13 pages says it all really....

I'm expecting Wedgie and Punky to be there to welcome him....

How certain are you or is this all rumour. That would be devestating news for us Eagles fans if it did come true.
