$2.00 - Peter Vivian - Coming very hard.
$2.25 - Mark Brant - Unlucky to have been axed from the Gawler Central contingency last year, which decided to go in favour of one of there own mini buses.
$4.15 - Simon Koch - What he doesnt know about the opposition isnt worth knowing, played as Seelanders 2IC for a number of years and would see the Lions as an oppotune club to start his A-Grade coaching career.
Damian Prouse - Another coach on the outer after 2009.
$4.55 - Shane Broad - Will the club go for a younger variaty of coach, has had successfully coached at A-Grade level and may be an appointment with a long term vision.
$5.20 - Rian Nelson - Lions may want to go for a seasoned BL&G coach if he parts company with the pups. Wants to coach again.
$6.25 - Matt Hermann - Seems to have his lobists backing from his Gawler Central contingency, although they can be very easily impressed.
$6.50 - Malcolm McGrath - Would the Mesiah be prepared to dust off the coaching board and bring the club back to their glory days.
$7.50 - Darren James - Can talk under water, has spent a little time at CDFC and may be looking to also start coaching senior footy in BL&G.
$19.00 - Ben Burgess - Looking for a chance of returning to a Blue & White variety after an apprenticeship in the APFL.
$25.00 - Jeff Brown - A real roughie, will the Lions try and lure the former coach from his CDFC role.
$30.00 - Kym Vivian - Just because underthepack thinks he can coach.
$80.00 - Luke McCraken - May be a smokey with the current reserves side sitting in the four.
$1050 - Texas Rattlesnake - Appears to go missing when the going gets tough.

Pigsy wants to know what Jack Callander paying? He does everything else at that club

One time I thought I had contracted Basco-mania but it was just gonorrhea.

Angaston by 4 goals

All that really matters this round is that the panthers number 23 qualifies and can get on the park and tune in come the 29th August at Tanunda oval

doesnt really matter if the number 23 qualifies or not, panthers are a much better team without him, managed with him all year why change now and bring in a un fit un realiable forward

Being in a position where I am able to speak on behalf of the Angaston players,
I would say that there wouldn't be a guy in the team that thinks having Basco wouldn't benefit us.
He has an X-factor, is strong and can kick 3-4 on an off day.
I know for a fact that the boys believe with players returning, 1 of them Bas, that we can be right in the mix on GF day.
Those that loathe him generally fear him and what he can do, both with ball and elbow.

Everyone likes him stew, he's terrific a bloke, the sort of guy that when you look at him you immediately feel better about yourself.
Its just that we all know that he's way passed his prime and think its sad when players that were good once try to hang for one more shot at glory. Bit like mike tyson at the end of his career.

Would still rather play with the Big Bas than against him.
The guy can still play, up to him really, if he did the work this off-season he could come
back next year close to his prime and just a smidge smarter with age.
You don't lose ability, you just have to work harder to stay at the top of your game.
I for one hope he does the hard yards and plays 2010 like a man possessed.
Will be an influence in 2009 yet anyway.

Stew u must be a rookie or built like a twig, any A grader worth his salt would lick their lips if Bas was their match up for the day.
Fairly certain hadd's wont be looking to bas to light up his engine room come finals time, if he gets a gig at all it will be a numbers issue and i will concede that his name would look good on the interchange, but his head would look terrible in the bunyip GF spread.

I would tend to disagree there Stewie.
At the latter end of my illustrious career, I had my own philosophy on that.
"Don’t work harder, just work smarter"
This managed to curb those little midgets that eventually start overtaking you in the latter part of a career.

Spot on Pinch, that's scary.
I weigh 58 kg and have played 8 senior games.
I am 19 in March.
You really got me there. Bravo.
I look up to Basco, he is everything I wish I could be....and more.

tuzza would be a good match up... be interesting to see them attack the footy together and have it go past them just to see who's got the widest turning circle.

The only thing big about Bascombe is his guts.

If he was playing in the BL&G not that long ago he would of been chewed up and spat out. Not sure how he would of faired against mid field enforcers of my day Danny Westhoff, Kym Hermann , Dimetrius Steinert , Jamie Thomas , Malcom Mcgrath , James Linke and Justin Irving just to name a few.

All those players above were also very good players unlike Bascombe, if he plays A grade finals it will just go to show how much the competition is suffering.

Looking forward to get along to see the blue and white streamers with Bascombe mania hitting Angas Recreational Park.
Dawe should account for the BL&G's most over rated Taylor.
Harvey will run rings around Ryan.
Bascombe will smash any opponent he confronts.
Pech will become a 3 goals better player with Bascombe in the arc.
Panthers to win by 12.5 goals in the heavy conditions.

Dimma Steinert, l've always liked the bloke, But seriously, the guy used to be out to 5 in the morning Friday nights in Renmark, hitchhike back to where he was staying and play for Money on a Saturday in the Riverland . Play a good first half and die in the arse. Not sure I would use him as a role model for anything really.
Almost like using yourself as a role model for modesty and humility plugger :D

No fall out just yet but I was shocked as most when I heard Prouse was not going to continue due to some players claiming that they will walk if he coaches next season. Eichner & Kemp where the two big names to say this, would have thought the club was bigger than those 2, Prouse had the club and the locals at heart. I think Prouse saw the potential troubles and to his credit not to apply again.
