Ablett is injured and might get rested for a match towards the end of the year. Might even be this week as the Cats don't like to play half fit players and are very wary of ANZ Stadium's surface.

Yeah I just heard that news

Quichey's patience will pay off by the looks. NOT having Ablett could be the advantage

Hogg Division I Finals
League Ranking: 15173

Qualifying Finals - winner the week off, losers to play winners of Elimination Finals.

Squeakeroos_DTF 2,043 d. darcy DTF 1,736
Q Before You 2,245 d. LKIF 1,725

Elimination Finals - winners to play losers of Qualifying Finals. Losers out.

Supre Cil Dluohs 1,582 d. WYCBLOODS 1,314
CoverKing 1,787 d. Leisa's Lovelies 1,547

Relegation Matches - Winners relegated to Hogg Division II, Losers relegated to Hogg Division III

Mighty Crows 1,363 d. smac 1,112
Maria Sharapova 1,496 d. Punk Roosters 1,033

Semi Finals - Losers Out

darcy DTF vs. Supre Cil Dluohs (Winner to play Q Before You)
LKIF vs. CoverKing (Winner to play Squeakeroos_DTF)

It's so long to Leisa's Lovelies and WYCBLOODS for 2009 as they got beaten in a couple of low scoring Elimination finals with all sides affected by donutitis. The big news in Hogg Division I is that darcy DTF, a team who has been dominating in this competition has been well beaten and now faces Supre Cil Dluohs in a cut throat final this week. SCD has already defeated Darcy this season so the possibility of him going out in straight sets is on the cards. Meanwhile the Squeakeroos and the Q Man have staked a very strong claim for promotion with solid showings in their Qualifying finals. The Q Man's 'no Ablett' strategy has him very well placed to advance to Hogg Premier and his score of 2245 in a week when most coaches have struggled to top two grand is a bold statement. Squeakeroos_DTF also looks good for promotion after cleaning up the 'unbeatable' darcy DTF in his final.

In the relegation matches Mighty Eagles and Maria Sharapova avoided the double drop while smaccer and Punky have been shunted down into Div III. In this weeks finals I reckon Darcy can hit back with a win to challenge Q Man next week but I reckon that CoverKing might be able to get by LKIF to keep his run going.

Hogg Division II Finals
League Ranking 11421

Qualifying Finals - winner the week off, losers to play winners of Elimination Finals.

REBCats 1,849 d. FOOTY LEDGENS 1,635
Hondo's Hard Nuts 1,969 d. Leisa's Lovelies 1,547

Elimination Finals - winners to play losers of Qualifying Finals. Losers out.

holland's heros 1,737 d. FNQ Trotters 1,550
cobra's 1,809 d. The Underdogs 1,645

Semi Finals - Losers Out

Leisa's Lovelies vs. cobra's (Winner to play REBCats)
FOOTYLEDGENS vs. holland's heros (Winner to play Hondo's Hard Nuts)

This time it really is all over for the FNQ Trotters who fell afoul of holland's heros on the weekend. Also exiting stage left are The Underdogs who felt the bit of a vicious cobra. In this week's finals it is a brother vs. sister battle as Leisa's Lovelies take on the cobra's for the right to meet the mighty REBCats in the Prelim Final. Cubby had a truly awful weekend in the Hogg after losing to Parko in Premier and the old man in Divvy II. His last hope is a victory in the family league but he has to get by holland's heros first...and then he has to play Hondo!

Three teams are in the hunt for promotion to Division I - cobra's, Hondos Hard Nuts and holland's heros. The cobra's are on the outer a bit as they have to make the grand final to go up as they are ranked below holland's heros so if they both get done on Prelim Final day it is holland's heros who get promoted. Hondo can almost book his passage to Div I but obviously it is not a done deal yet.

The cobra's have Adam Goodes IIRC ... 223 points

Happy to be avoiding the REB Cats until the GF if I get that far. I have 4 injuries in my defence to worry about but can sit on my hands this week if I have to.

CoverKing to go thru to the prelim final in div 1. LKIF to go out in straight sets. Early call i no but im 19 points ahead, LKIF with 8 players played (and the captain is one) iv had 6. He has 4 zeros i have 1. My captain is ablett who has had 43 at present. n iv also got corey (38 touches). We also have 4 or so players that are in both sides, so that cancels out some people to catch up the point difference.
I will play squekaroos or whatever that team is. im confident that i can get thru that game aswell. Massive underdog but watch out for CoverKing.

Almost went Swan as (c) instead ... phew!

Swan did well too ... but still phew!

Doing well so far this week so it's a pity I'm not playing anyone. I see Footy Ledgens is doing well so far in his final. He'll be my match up next week by the looks.

Pretty confident eh CoverKing? I don't think you'll squeak by the Squeakeroos. They've been in pretty good form lately. Yep, Ablett really struggling on that ANZ surface. Which is why I had Didak as captain. DOH.

Hogg Premier League Finals
League Ranking: 1803-not updated yet.

Semi Finals - Losers Out

Poon Army 2,073 d. the chardonnays 2,021
Buddy And The Boys 2,130 d. GordonBlues 2,115

Preliminary Finals - Losers out, Winners to Grand Final

REBCats vs. Buddy And The Boys
Black Magic SCE vs. Poon Army

It was a good week in the Hogg for the Ipswich boys as Parko and Hammo won two very close Semi Finals in Hogg Premier. Poon Army trailed nearly the whole game before pulling out something from somewhere to knock off the unlucky finn whose the chardonnays made a good fist of things in his first season in Hogg Premier. AFL Onliner GordonBlues went out with three straight losses and Parko proved to be too much in the semi final. Like the chardys, GordonBlues was also a promoted side who had a very good season. Reuben, the Black Magic SCE coach hails from WA and the other three are from Qld so the Hogg Shield will be leaving SA this season. On paper Black Magic has the best side in it so I'm pretty happy to be on the other side of the draw.

Hogg Division I Finals
League Ranking: 15173 - Not updated yet

Semi Finals - Losers Out

darcy DTF 2,337 d. Supre Cil Dluohs 1,869
CoverKing 2,248 d. LKIF 1,846

Preliminary Finals - Losers out, Winners to Grand Final. Winners promoted to Hogg Premier.

Squeakeroos_DTF vs. CoverKing
Q Before You vs. darcy DTF

darcy DTF bounced back to top form to easily account for the Supre Cil Dluohs who cleaned up the darcster in the minor round. SAFOOTYnet's very own CoverKing continued on his winning ways by racking up a pretty good score to send LKIF out of the finals in straight sets. This week we have some classic confrontations for the right to play off not only in the Hogg Division I Grand Final but the right to qualify for the Premier League next season. Most of these guys have been racking up some easy wins against ordinary sides but there will be nothing easy about the next two rounds for these coaches. These two finals are almost too close to call. I reckon the Q Man can get his revenge but the Squeakeroos might stop CoverKing's giantkilling run but all four coaches are worthy Premier League participants and the losers will be a bit stiff.

FOOTY LEDGENS 2,370 d. holland's heros 2,025
cobra's 2,241 d. Leisa's Lovelies 1,968

Preliminary Finals - Losers out, winners to Grand Final

REBCats vs. cobra's
Hondos Hard Nuts vs. FOOTYLEDGENS

Hogg Division II has provided the league with its first promoted coaches as the weekend's results have seen cobra's and Hondos Hard Nuts promoted to Hogg Division I next season. Both Dale and Hondo are first time SuperCoaches who have impressive debuts with both sides regularly racking up big scores in the Hogg this season. cobra's will remain in the family league but will also be offered a spot in Hogg Division I in 2010. holland's heros was the unlucky side to miss out as he was thumped by The Cub who can turn on a big score every now and then so it's Hondo beware as The Cub will be out to plot his demise this weekend.

Cub and I share the same injury worries in defence with Bock and possibly Goddard

I also took a risk and brought in Montagna this week while his price was within reach and I see Cub has him too

He pulled a great score this week so it will be a close call.

I just read an excerpt from Ross Lyon's press conference after the game and he was specifically asked about Goddard and he "guaranteed" he'd play next week. I think they'll think twice about resting players again after today.

Unfortunately poor old Bock sounds like he is gone for the season. They are only "hopeful" he will be back for the real finals.

Forced trade coming up. I was hoping I could get away without trading him.
