Afraid of getting a bit dirty are we?
haha no but the ruckmen have to have some oppotunity to leave the ground! Plus the proper centre circle wasnt at all visible by the end of the B grade.
The Turf cricket pitches at Strath and L.Creek certainly are a bit of a problem when wet and muddy but the biggest concern i have is that the grounstaff move the centre circle off the pitch area but dont adjust the square resulting in the wingmen on one side of the square being only about 10 m from the centre throw ups whilst on the other side they are about 40 m away. Same for both sides i suppose.
End of the day, if Football wants to use Turf pitch CRICKET ovals to play their game on then they have to put up with the conditions (wet and muddy or dry and hard) ;)
If you moved the square with the centre circle at Strath, the eastern wing would be in the netball courts

Wouldn't the pitch be covered with sandy loam?

Well done to Compass on Saturday the played the conditions better and wanted the game more in the end..

WHAT WAS TERRIBLE IS THAT WE HAVE JUST ROLLED AROUND IN 8INCH DEEP MUD FOR 2HRS THEN GOT INTO THE CHANGE ROOMS TO FIND WE HAD NO HOT WATER WHEN IT WAS MINUS 2, NO SHOWER HEADS ON THE 3 SHOWERS AND THE WATER PREASSURE WAS LESS THEN A GRAVITY FED RAIN WATER TANK TAP. I know they cant do too much about the oval and its condition but surley you can expect to be able to clean yourself off before driving home after a game of footy in mud, I am sure they would have a plumber involved in the club so i would suggest you get some hot water, water preassure and shower heads ASAP Compass!!!!

Totally agree. Found the same thing when we played there. Not good enough Mt Compass  .

On a positive note, good work Ebay and Goolwa on your improved opposition facilities this season :ymapplause: .

SANFL ovals such as Woodville, the Bays and Prospect all have turf pitches, they end up just as bad through winter. Prospect today was very wet for the U15s but the oval look great considering the recent conditions, except for the pitch area. Woodville is pretty bad at the moment all over, not much drainage happening and the Bay is disgusting!

It's one of the great things in footy, the conditions are always changing and players have to adapt. It is the same for both teams.

My understanding is that even the home team had stuffed showers !! so it wasn't just the visiting team! So it appears that it was a 'unique' situation! granted they rn't the best showers! it's funny that those that point the finger r/have been major culprits in the past!! a bit like my footy career .... you only 'remember how good you were' as opposed to how good you actually were!! hahahaha ....   you know ya having a bad day when 'locals' have to go home to have a decent shower!!

As I read the times, I catch a glimpse of what I understand to be the Enc Bay president at Victor Harbor President Ball. After being wiped from the oval, why would he want to be there?
Also good to see the Myponga Senior Colts sitting second!
Names like Melissa Johnson (Wimbledon), Blink 182 (Music Clip), Bruce McCauley (Cricket) and Helen D'Amico (Footy) these are the Real Hero's.

GSFL Website

Postby Tiger83 » Thu Jul 16, 2009 4:54 pm

Hey all,
Can anyone shed some light on why the GSFL website isnt getting updated regularly?? The results go up every week, but all the cool stuff like goal kickers, milestones, reports etc hasnt been updated in ages. Its always been a pretty informative site, i just wonder why it has dropped off the pace this year?? Anyone know??
