RD11 Glenelg vs West @ Glenelg

Postby Thiele » Tue Jun 09, 2009 7:15 pm

West Adelaide had the bays on toast the last time west played them execpt for the the dying minutes of the game. Reckon the Bays will be to stong. Glenelg comming off a heavy ground yesterday and a 5 day break might just help West Adelaide.

The Bays were extremely fortunate to win the first encounter, but having said that, they did come from over 4 goals down to sneak the win (after being 4 goals up! )

Whilst Westies have show considerable improvement this year, I don't think the Bays will give them a sniff this time and regardless of having 48 hours less to recover, will win comfortably.

well the bays should win & win well, but what i would want to see if i barracked for west is too attack for the entire game, they did it again on saturday from quarter time on they went from attacking to being ultra defensive (some of it by norths pressure) but why do they insist on trying to 'save' games is beyond me as their best attacking football is as good as ANY TEAM in the comp & yet when they get in front they change tactics which to me is bewildering, bays by 6 goals
i thought secret groups were a thing of the past, well not on websites anyway

They werent trying to save the game it was due to them flooding and having no one to kick to as they werent getting back fast enough.

Great to see Shane Birss back playing footy after his publicised battle with depression...

I think he has played a couple of games in the reserves now but great to see him make his league debut for the Bloods.

Good luck on Saturday Shane and welcolme to SANFL football.

Heard on 5AA tonight that Port Power have today promoted Danny Meyer from their rookie list onto the senior playing list.

Danny has also been selected to make his debut for the Power against the Bulldogs up in Darwin so he will an ommission from the Bays side for this clash against the Bloods.

Great to see Shane Birss in to play his first league game for the bloods this week. I think this game will be a little closer than most think and the bays will get over the line by 3 goals after going in to the third quarter break behind.

And in english.

In all seriousness, hopefully we can somehow put in a 4 qtr effort this week. If we do , it will be extremely hard for the bays to beat us. Unfortunately I don't think we know how to play 4 qtrs yet. The Bays comfortably in the end after being very close all day. Good luck to Shane Birss on his return and hopefully he'll make a difference on the football field
