It has been great to see us post 450+ with only 1 "small hundred" by Harris and contributions from everyone except Ferguson and Cosgrove. It has been the same story with the ball with Cleary getting 4 fa in the first dig and Christian 4 fa in the second, so far. The improvement in this side post christmas has been fantastic. Lets hope it continues into early season form next season. There is finally light at the end of the tunnel.

Once more, for about the 50th time this season, we see tailenders getting the head down and batting with discipline rarely displayed by batsmen. The game is strange these days.

At least, a wicket. 9/224.

if queensland get 0 points versus Victoria in the last game and we can beat tasmania outright we will fall 2 points short of second spot...
and for all those ppl that thought it was a good declaration at the start of the year going for the outright when it was near impossible, chasing the runs to get the 2 points coulda seen us play in the final against the vics...

Hindsight is a wonderful thing isn't it.

Maybe if the Redbacks had won more than one game in the first 7 games they would have had a shot of playing in the final.

One of the Redbacks' greatest flaws over the years is our preparedness to offer points to other states, when they never offer us the same opportunities in return. A comment was made about the Victorian team on ABC in reference to the tactics they used against Tasmania today. The comment was simply, "Victoria never give points to other teams". Spot on, I wish South Australia would do the same. Make declarations by all means, but not generous ones.

I think at that stage of the season, a spot in the final wasn't even being thought of because of the position the Redbacks were in on the table. My stance at the time was certainly take the 2 points; and I didn't even consider them to make the final. Only the other results has made it look "so close but so far" at this stage.

This has been the first time since November 2005 that the Redbacks have won two games in a row outright. We haven't had an innings win outright since defeating Queensland by an innings and 125 runs in February 2003.

A late charge has been good for the youngster's confidence, however, people who are annoyed that this teaqm is no longer able to make the final should remember where we were two weeks ago....

Next year was always on the go, but this year was written off about 4 months ago
