Do any older members (Mick or Coorong perhaps) remember a tonight show that was on Channel 7 (i think) in the late 60's (?) which was hosted by Bob "I brought the Beatles to Adelaide Dickbrain" Francis. It was like a "dare" show and they would get members of the public to do various stupid things (drink unknown beverages whilst blindfolded, ring a family member at home and get them to say something stupid etc). What was it called?
I remember "Whats my secret" with Ros (grrrrr!!!!!) from the Cartoon Show and Barry Ion on the panel.

You got me on the show with Fatty Francis, I vaguely remember it, but not the name of show. There was also a Channel Seven variety show starring Barry Ion with John Vincent as his side kick, it was supposed to be a bit of a competitor for Adelaide Tonight. That was around 69 - 71, I think it bombed badly. The show with Ros Wood was called "I've got a secret" (i think?), it also had Spencer Binns as a panellist, Spencer owned Benjamins Restaurant down near the Torrens Weir. Anyway during the 90s Spencer sometimes worked as a barman at the Exeter in Rundle St for his brother Nick. I always remember people who serve me drinks  Ros Wood was bloody annoying in that show when asked to guess the celebrity guest was she would always say " Is it Bob Moore?" didn't matter who it was always the same f*8king answer.

The Channel Niners with Ian Fairweather , Glenys O'Brian (who eventually married Ernie Sigley) who was then replaced by Anne North ( claim to fame a bare foot "hippy wedding", spread all over the News and TV), Dean Davis eventually replaced Ian, and compaired with a smokin' hot dark headed bird, can't remember her name :? God she'd be goin' on 60 now!....remebered Helen Woods!

Thanks Mick. I use to go to the Exeter a lot in the early 90's (to see bands) but didn't recognise Spencer.
Anne North was actually my kindergarten teacher (St Phillips in Broadview) and that connection got me a couple of gigs on Here's Humphrey in the late 60's (my 15 minutes of fame  ) also got a gig on the Channel Niners once eating doughnuts from a string! I reckon Mrs Ernie Sigley was the host in those days (with Ian Fairweather).

Yep "The Penthouse Club" it was.

Spencer was mainly a day-time barman, so you probably wouldn't have seen him, unless you are in around lunch-time. I don't know how many people would remember Ernie Sigley started on Channel Seven on the kids show, he played a mailman and did a segment called "Ernie's Mailbag", he subsequently made the move to nine and didn't look back!!

I remember they were in this cafeteria quite a lot, talking to the chef behind the counter - it was a rather industrial looking canteen.

Sure do, Hedley Cullen was his real name. The eyes at the end of the movie was the highlight

A few people have made references to the show "Channel Niners", but for the era you are referring to, shouldn't it be called "The Super Cartoon Show"?
A couple that haven't been mentioned yet, from my youth;
Welcome Back Kotter
The Paul Hogan Show
What Will They Think of Next
The Kenny Everitt Show
The Naked Vicar Show
Blankety Blanks (with Graham Kennedy)
Land of the Lost
Godzilla vs the Naked Amazon Beach Volley Ball Babes
The Beatles also had a TV show that I remember seeing in the early seventies when I was still in my nappies, anyone remember the name of that one?
I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

There used to be a great animals show weekdays on Channel 9 at 4.30 in the afternoon.

Hosted by some bloke with a mo.

Think it was actually called 'Animals' funny enough.
