Hey Power Raptor
I know Gianni pretty well.
He is a very good coach, agood talker and very astute.
Very passionate, you should have seen him after the GF loss
Devestated.
Has a good relationship with the players and his assistants in Frank and Jimmy
Worked well with the senior coaches this year
sad to lose him from McLaren, but I am sure he will be there when he can
At some stage he will be back at McLaren as a senior coach

Hey A mum maybe you could fill me in, but apparently a few of next years senior colts are thinking of going to Aldinga plus i heard from a handy source that ex McLaren assistant coach now head of Aldinga is trying to poach some of your newly promoted colts from the seniors. I also heard this is happening with Ben Princi at Pongy is this true?

It would be a dear shame to lose guys like;

The big Red-headed Centre Half Forward
The young lad who won the senior colts goal kicking
And also the young lad who broke his collarbone in the final against Langhorne creek

Mr TEACH
Unfortunately what you say is true
McLaren has spoken with the GSFL re U/17s moving clubs within the GSFL and has asked for points to be allocated to first year u/17's who are chased by other clubs...in this case Myponga.
Unfortunately the fact that a teacher can approach students and ask them to play for him as Coach is perhaps using his position as a teacher a bit too influencial....it is very much unethical.

Steve Hill has met with all the u/17's from 2008 and explained to them his views.
He has met with many of our current senior list over the last 2 weeks and will be meeting a few more tomorrow night
I understand that there is a fair chance that the CHF will be part of that tomorrow.

Jeez i hope your right Yetti because McLaren have been screaming out for big guys over the past few years and finally they have a tall young fella with some really good size about him and he is trying to be poached. it would be terrible for McLaren if he left.

I had heard nothing of this Mr T

Can't tell you how much my heart has sunk just reading it

I hope that these boys know and have been told just how important they are to us at McLarens and do stay.

Knowing Ben Princi I would not have thought he would not do such a thing in his teaching role, so I hope it is not true. I know that a fair bit is said in jest about "come on, come play with us"... blah, blah, blah... but if it's on a serious 'poaching' note.... well... mmm... don't know what to think.

Re Brad, I know it's football and probably happens everywhere, but my opinion of him may change a little if I know that he's purposely out to recruit these young guys. :( There should be some kind of 'ruling' against it... let them be for goodness sake in their first year of seniors, then they're old enough to make up their minds after that !! :(

But what can we do... if it's to go play with friends at a different club I suppose it's different. Better to have these boys playing the game than not at all.

What's that saying... if you love something set it free, if it comes back to you it's yours.

I just feel quite deflated by that news Mr T :(

Those boys will get an invitation to South adelaide as well and hopefully they go well there and come back to McLaren as better players.

All clubs lose players and coaches to other clubs, it is a fact of life.

Mclaren will be doing everything possible to keep all players, and will continue to interview and chat one on one

Absolutely, and if they get an invitation to South and are successful that's fantastic, couldn't be more happy for them.

I know that all clubs lose players and coaches O:)... football is just not cut out for us mums I don't think ... (well this mum anyway)....lol.... you watch these boys grow up from primary school age and you become 'attached' to them :D

I'm sure that McLaren will be doing everything possible to keep them, and that's great.
And if they don't end up staying then we'll definitely put the time into the ones that do stay O:)

Just was a little sad to read Mr T's post, that is all O:)
