it'll be interesting to see how Pines and Wingfield go getting two sides together, i'm pretty confident that we will at Ovies, i'd say they Pines if they did would be mid table and Wingfield would finish bottom. St Pauls were very competative a few years back but went backwards a little bit, did Horse leaving have anything to do with that? Houghton coming down should be competitive again and the other sides i don't know much about. 2-3 Years ago Paralowie were mid table if i remember correctly, did they recruit well or have other teams fallen away?

From what I understand Paralowie had a huge recruiting year last with a lot of ex-players coming back and bringing friends with them. Im sure thats what Nth Pines will be looking to do this year, can't let the team up the road get to far ahead!! If Pines do get the 2 teams together I would expect them to be contenders.

No I played a couple of games in Salisbury Wests B grade before hurting my knee. But before that I played at the Pines for about 6 years

2009 will be a interesting year in Div 7. Paralowie were very strong this year with a lot of ex players coming back, they were just too good. Think they will go well in Div 6 too! Too hard at this stage to say who the contenders are, be interesting to see if Wingfield, Ovingham and Nth Pines do get 2 teams together. Be interesting to see who Wingfield get back playing at the club! Over the years of playing against Nth Pines they have always been competitive, especially with a fair few really young players going well, be interesting to see if they still have most of these young players!
Anyways I am not going to say who will be good and that stuff yet, cos still October and that means it is rumour filled and a lot of it is just crap about who is playing where etc!!!

Hazza11 whats the word on St Pauls for the year ahead? Have recruitment talks been positive as far? I know its still only October but you have to start the talks early. You blokes are a weird team I always thought that St Pauls would not stay in Div 7 to long.

that would make a bit of sense, my guess is with Virginia and Two Wells and all that yeah?!? they are a lot closer than travelling to Mitchell Park for example... but how does that league work, what grades do they have etc?

I think its just A grade, B grade and juniors no Divisions. If they do join that comp my money would be on them getting flogged unless they recruit well now that they will be playing more locally.

They will get spanked. And not having an oval wouldn't help them either.

I have heard that there is plans for Angle Vale to have a new sporting venue behind the North Lakes Golf Course but not sure when this is meant to happen. Its part of a new sporting venue planned by the local council in the Munno Para/Angle Vale area (i think).

Na mate, just know most of the people that run it. Their best opportunity to join a country league would be APFL and they just gained Robertstown to finally give them an equal number and from what I gather they'd rather spread north than go metro, the Barossa League requires a fenced oval, netball and junior teams in U/17 & U/15, so that would count them out.

I thik that they'd be concerntrating on establishing themselves as a senior club before making any big moves like that.

You're around the mark there BS, it's a bit rude IMO that the council is willing to spend huge $ builing a new complex when Eastern Park, Smithfield and Central United all have old deteriorating facilities and have all been established for ages. What would happen if Angle Vale folded in 2 years, what a waste of money, I have seen other clubs come and go over the years, lose a few key people and you lose a club, Blakeview Football Club springs to mind immediately.

I live in out that way and there is always talk from the council around here about building new sporting complex's within a new school and so on and so on. I understand what you mean but the advantage for Angle Vale is that they are the only club close to all these new plans.

No inside info mate, I was under the impression it was all go ahead. Nevertheless, I don't think that the APFL would be that interested in going more metro from the reports that I've heard.
