Ran into someone today from the footy club who was on the trip too, and he also told me the same thing, very good news for our Football Club. Speaking of youngsters, does anyone rate any of the 18s coming through?

Yes I rate him too, one of the best Key Defenders I played with but can get distracted at times, unfortuantly he is still in the U18s next year. The 18s that are Coming Through, are S.Goed, J.Griguol, N.Gaudio, S.Sommer, L.Minopoulois, A.Mann, M.Koop, D.Cassin and B.Russo

Thats your man shrek. Has played with Gepps for the last few years.
Brother of our skipper adam peterson and brother in law to dash ravlich.
Apparently is was only a matter of time before he came to the club. Now with a young squad, a higher standard of football and a bright future, he has potentially seen now as the prime opportunity to make the move.

I am really excited about the prospect of getting scotty to the club. Almost seems to good to be true!!! Its Not like i dont trust my fellow posters, but when i hear it from mitch, or see him on the track ill be all the more happy.

With the return of Todd Shepphard to an already strong on ball unit, and now a class act ruckman, hopefully we can gain some dominance around the stoppage plays in this higher grade of footy.

Some good kids in there. Not sure if there are any first choice a graders amongst those names but alot of talent. With the way our system works there is no reason why 1 or 2 of those kids wont get there chance in 09. Further depth and strengthing of the b's, c's and now d's is only a good thing for the club

Here is how I rate the 18s Boys

J.Griguol = Can be very lazy when it comes to fitness with a big preseason could be playing Bs
N.Gaudio = Very fast small forward but lacks strength and physical presence Bs or Cs
S.Sommer = Will play next season but for more of the social side of things, Cs/Ds
L.Minopoulois = Will play next year but needs to learn how to be a team player Bs
A.Mann = Not sure if he is playing or not, has alot to learn about football Cs
M.Koop = Wont play
D.Cassin = Wont play
B.Russo = Will be at Norwood for most of the season

Havnt we got another one at Port??

Hoskin??? I like the look of him in particular.

Another one to keep an eye on coming through the grades is Matty Rousen. Captained Norwood County u/15's in the smartplay cup and runner up in the association medal. Would love to see th lad get a gig in the state 16's next year. Has all the foundations for a very smooth mover. Excellent athleticism for his size as well.

Spoke to S.P. at presentation night, he will be playing at GG in 2009. All at Gepps wish him the very best. He will certainly cause some headaches for all the oppositon coaching staff in div 4.

So with Tshep, jimmy t and camo adding to midfield depth, scotty the new ruckman, chad a third key forward what should be next on our hitlist?

Key defender? Big bodied mid

PS. Congrats to mossy for winning the allen eggen (spelling?) and camo being rookie of the year. Sounded like a good time was had by all

mossys effort was great though. i think everyone was a little jealous of that haircut of his! :lol:

How's the height and strength look in defence BB ?

Height and strength is looking ok. Again the key will be speed and run

Id really love to see another key marking target with a strong body take some pressure off of pat though. With ads goin in for his foot op, we will lose him for a while. So minus the skipper, i think our best back 6 looks like

Sparnon McCarthy C.Shenton
Furno Charlton R.Shenton

Love to have cam and furno forward but with parrish now down there and shep to rotate through, his skill, run and hands are better served off half back. Could easily play on ball or wing as anyone named there could. :wink:

Will we require another bigger body down there ? Looks a bit light in strength although the run and athleticism is a definite positive... Who would be the next backup at CHB or FB ??

Now scotty is on board darko may find himself in a key defensive role with leps allowed to continue his development around the ground. I think defensive ability and football class is strong in the 6 i listed but would struggle give three big bodies to defend against Looking at the B's, Cal would maybe be in line? Bodie if had better availability but we cant do much about that.

Maybe we should just clone pat
