Soft Drinks

Postby Punk Rooster » Sun Sep 14, 2008 5:18 pm

Was perusing the drinks in the supermarket today, looking for a low sugar soft drink.
I thought the mineral waters would be low in sugar, but after looking across a wide range (coke, flavoured mineral water, sno drop etc), I discovered that they are virtually all the same- 10% sugar (ie 10g sugar/100mL)
The diet drinks are not include in this.
Moral of the story?
No soft drink is better than the other, choose which ever one you enjoy, but drink it in moderation.

Iced Coffee
Feel Good Iced Coffee has half the sugar of a normal FUIC. & has half the sugar (per 100mL) of soft drinks.
Therefore, you can drink 2 x Feel Good without miniMAL guilt, or have only 1 & have half the sugar.

To try to get my weight down I have looked at this issue, but the artificial sweeteners with benzene ring structures worry me as potential carcinogens, and some of the others - allegedly non-metabolisable sugars - have been reported as actually causing metabolic change worse for Diabetics than sugar, and not good for the rest of us either.

I'd hoped someone would make soft drink with simply less sugar and no synthetic muck, but it isn't happening because the average buyer has a very sweet tooth! :(

IIRC...Rolf Harris, Keith Richards and an actress whose name escapes me are all into urine therapy as well.

Just remembered her name...Sarah Miles
