Not sure other leagues affiliated with the SANFL as is the SAAFL would register the guy. All suspensions carry over to those affil. clubs for this very reason

yes but he can serve his suspension then register its only the SAAFL have the rule of 12 games and de-registered.

Yes he can serve the 15 game ban then move to any other league except the SAAFL, you're correct

Surely between 2 on field, goal & boundary umps some sort of report should have been lodged if there was anything to actually report if not it should be a non issue and just an accident.

the overly cynical could say that perhaps the reason no umpire saw it was because of its lateness... :)

I hope you are joking there finn like i said surely if a player has struck another player with such force so late as you claim that there would be a reaction from other uni players or spectators and considering that the ball was in play with this inncident all eyes would have been in the area.

They can use the whole 'want to play lower grades' thing all they like, but they're not jumping to A2 or A3, A6 is only one level above where they are and they're obviously capable seeing they can make a GF.

Maybe if we win Div 4 next year we might ask the league to stay down because we only wanna play 'lower grades', what a load of s***t...

Also agree that if you are good enough to contest the ultimate prize that you should go up....Adelaide Uni have also won previously and exercised their right and remained in Div 7 as per the SAAFL rules but can only exercise the right to stay down once, if win following year must go up.

Have said it before that SAAFL need to run a seperate Div just for C & D Grade sides that all Div 1 and 2 clubs and maybe even Div 3 should have to participate in and fine them if fail to submit teams (fine us for everything else) and if this doesn't leave enough teams for Div 7 comp then unfortunately they should either be allocated to the closest Div 1 or 2 team in their area to be included in new Div or fold or be included in a expanded Div 6 comp.
Uni went up to Div 6 a couple of years ago didn't they? They were competitive for a year or two if I remember rightly?

Pretty sick of how much of a bagging Henley cop on here, seems certain clubs and their players that have a high percentage of contributors on this site are protected species while the rules are altered when it effects those close to some of the mods?!?! Fair and equitable coverage would be nice........
As for the issue of Henley going up or staying in D7, some of you need to get off your high horses and have a think about how hard it is to get together a C grade side every week. Havingn coached at D7 & D7 Res, you never know going into a season how many players and what quality you will have in a given year. We were lucky this year to have a great group of young players to make us competitive, there is absolutnely no guarentee of being able to replicate that next year. I would imagine our club will choose to stay in D7 if we are allowed.
Well done to Paralowie, best side all year and deserved to win the GF, but haven't heard one ounce of recognition for Henley who despite having to settle for the 43rd to 64th best players (who had to still fork out $15 per week to play, including the coach and captain) selected at the club each week, managed to match it with the PAID players from Paralowie and Mitchell Park (Mithcell Park - all talk and no action, I would be very disappointed with their effort this year having come down from D6.....). Maybe some of the A GRADE clubs need to have a look at why they exist if they can't match a C grade.........

Not bagging Henley, well done as a C Grade side against A Grade sides, but if you knowingly enter a competition (Div 7) and endorsed by your club and willing to compete for the ultimate prize (a GF) then you must be prepared to go up if make a GF, if not then your club should have refused the saafl and stipulated that more than willing to compete in a C & D grade comp only! put the pressure back on saafl to enforce a C&D grade comp.

Agree with comment of why some lower A grade clubs exist, should be incorporated in closest Div 1 or 2 clubs to ensure C & D grade comp exists each season.

R u serious? Henley C & D grade for the past few years that i have known them havent exactly been non competitive each year. Henley have a problem with numbers??? think about how hard it is to get together a C grade side every week  You must have so much trouble thats why you have a D Grade as well? Boo Hoo Waaa Waaa poor henley :-({|=

there is absolutnely no guarentee of being able to replicate that next year.
I hope this isnt what you are taking to the SAAFL as your reason why you want to stay in div 7 what a stupid excuse! Henley dont seem to have had this problem yet? Lots of lower div clubs have this same problem so why should henley be made special allowances?

Maybe some of the A GRADE clubs need to have a look at why they exist if they can't match a C grade.....
You just had a big sook bout your side needing to stay in div 7 then you write this? If your C Grade is sooooo good then why would you be worried about going up to div 6?

If you dont want to go up then why play in a grand final?

this is the exact attitude that helps to condone on field violence - and an attitude that stinks.

yes play hard, yes play fair and yes legitimately hip and shoulder when needed.

i'd hazard a guess as well that you can't be successful over many sides and many years without having an element of physical and mental toughness. I'd back my c1 team in for toughness over the last three years against any side, having beaten edwardstown, goodwood and salisbury north in the last three gfs.

once again physical toughness is being equated with aggression - aggression can be at the ball as well as at the player and i reckon it takes a stronger person to put up with being belted, win the ball and the game than just try to hit players hard either fairly or unfairly.
always forgive your enemies...nothing annoys them so much
