Not at all pleased about it, but if he's got the quals and a Port person doesn't, then play on.

Raises a point actually, I wonder why clubs aren't looking to encourage players to study finance type courses and develop them into business leaders to take over the running of the club? I'm a Chartered Accountant and would have loved the skills to play AFL and follow up by getting into the financial management and ultimately full management of an AFL club. What a cracking job it would be.

I agree with you,AFL clubs have something like $30M tunrover a year,lots of $$$$$ and you need someone pretty cluey to manage all that.
