Well what a big game it must have been out beneath the Tower. Peckers seem to be the real deal or have United still got those injuries they had before the bye. What are the thoughts coming out of tigerland are they still confident of making the 4.
Up at wakey it was a ding dong battle, played in terrible conditions, Cyclone Montgomerie ripped through seaside town absolutely demolishing what would have been a great spectacle. Good day to be eating pies in the coaches box with Kosi and Robbo. Maggies just held on into the breeze in the last. Match was played at great intensity, Jared Wilson showed his class particularly in the first quarter, prob tokk 12-15 marks for game.

Can confirm 100% that Steve Papanotis has signed and was cleared to Gawler Centrals before the deadline a couple of weeks back. Prob no good for Rams this season anyway but would have been handy next season for the rams.

When Andy and Luke Evans fire for the Peckers they will be very hard to beat. Andy especially is a machine. Throw in a top class midfield with the likes of Catty and Whiskey and they certainly are the real deal Swamp. The Tigers were very disappointing, but if they kicked straight the game would have been very different at half time. But you know what they say, bad kicking is bad football. United still have a few blokes to come back in but it if they don't hurry up it could be too late.

I see a clearance in for Mat Leigh back to Salisbury West - whats the story there?

Caught the last half of the game at Longies on saturday & must say that i was impressed with Balak. They completely ran the tigers of their feet in the last quarter. Question Droppie, could united be a bit fitter? It did look like they stopped half way through the last quarter after starting the term with a goal. Obviously throw in Broad, Shimmin & Davey & things could be different. Also noticed young Chad Baker wasn't out there. He has really impressed me the few times i've seen him. Surely he didn't play in the early game did he? Expect him to be a class act in the future. Whiskey seemed to dominate especially against the United ruckmen of Sharman & Jones who are not in the same class. Injuries aside, United's poor performances this year have been very unexpected.

Yeah Whiskey is a bit too big and strong I think. Big Paulie Vandenberg played well up at Full Forward. Getting the ball down there was a struggle. Tigers definately not fit enough. It's a hard problem to address when blokes don't get out to training.

Tough luck for Matty Leigh as he re-injured his knee. He is a very handy player and is a loss for the Tiges. I think he wants to play with a few mates back in the Westies Reserves. Good luck to him.

the clearance of steve pap and corey hodgeson from virginia is indicative of they way the club is preforming. very talented footballers that should have been retained at virginia in one form or another. this is another set back at the club, some committee member not happy being left out of decision making. players getting cash and a place in the As at the start of season now disappear and the locals they displaced have to try and hold the club together yet again. don't know how long the club can survive if it continues down this path :(

Would have thought Paps and Hodegson would have been at the top of the list of players to retain. Two of Virginia's most talented players over the past 5 years. The committee should have a lot to answer for there.

Yeah he's having an unreal year with the magpies this season and would be leading the B&F quite easily. Absolute gun across half back or through the midfield. DNP on saturday vs Hummocks.

Not retaining club greats is bad! but paying Ricky O a sign up fee? WTF! Now they are chasing him for cash! Don't like their chances.

Seems to be a familiar tale - not doing the homework and recruiting for recruiting sakes - surely the path would be to identify what the team is lacking and target players for those positions. Gives the club the option to then develop their own players and supplement the list as required. Big cheque books don't solve inherent policy problems and in reality make things worse.

What was GP thinking when he signed Ricky O? Had he not heard how he was performing elsewhere - he must have been the only one?

Still had a few missing on saturday Swamp but that is no excuse.Longies clearly had control of the game until five minutes to go in the third. When you have a scoreline of 6-13 on the board in the third quarter , How can you expect to win . If you can't polish off up forward there is problems. It was discussed to some extent in the changerooms before the game if there was a stoppage just back of half forward not to just bomb it in and hope for the best. What did we do? A few of our blokes must of been going out to dinner with whiskey on sat night because we smashed him on the chest about fifteen times. When the game cracked open in the last only then did balaks midfield get on top.Vinni Taylor was the only stand out all day, very good player and i rate him highly. A bit like yourself.Longies have to do something special from here on end.I feel for players like lurch and marty pym who continue to train hard and slug there stomachs out and don't even recieve a penny.Until the locals start getting some incentive eg; Beer vouchers, meal vouchers the culture might not change.

Seemed to be in his brothers shadow last year. But i would nearly think he has been more damaging this year than joel.

I never got to see him play - I don't think he had a game the week I saw United. How did he go? I had heard some good reports from other players in the Amateur league.
