thought the womans singles match was a pretty top standard between the the 2 willams sisters.

then an hour later they team up to win the doubles final in just under an hours play 6-2 6-2.

now i wonder if Venus is playing mixed doubles for the trifecta :-k

Can't help but draw a comparison to the McEnroe v Borg, 1981 Wimbledon final.

The end of the Borg's reign and the beginning of McEnroe's...

Yep, definitely shades of that rivalry.

I don't think Federer is on the way out though - he'll really struggle to beat Nadal on clay of course, but will remain damn hard to beat on grass and hard courts.
It will probably depend a lot on how much desire he has left -Nadal clearly outpoints in this department.

Djokovic is the 2nd best hard court player in the world, will be hard to beat at the US Open.
