Surely Marcus won't be able to get enough votes even if he does come back fulltime as he's missed too many games already.
Sterzl no chance on a losing team.
My guess would be Bailey or Maxfield from Compass (depending on if Burdett plays)
Owen Love from the Bay
Hodge and Jurek from Victor
Dark horse...one R Follett from Creeks! :finga:

Eagleton shines for Strathalbyn and a dark horse J Baggs from Encounter Bay.

Mail medal will be very close this year I beleive. Hodge and Eagleton would be big chances but have a lot of similar players in their teams that will 'steal' votes. My clear stand out is David Hams. Averaging 7 goals per match, on target for 100 goals. Some might laugh at this but surely if someone is kicking bags og 7,8,9 each week they will be in the votes.

Hams hs kicked huge amounts of goals before and never really made an impact come medal night. I rekon P32s dark horse sounds pretty good Follet might have a chance to pick up his second medal.

I would agree with that Saint, but this year he is way ahead of the rest (22 goals clear of the next best, not even at the half way point). And there are just so many good mid fielders around that I dont think that one player is capable of polling votes on a real consistent basis. Already on this forum we've mentioned about 20 possibilities. Hams is the only player "clearly" dominating his position week in week out.

Owen Love Encounter Bay unless the umpires are not smart enough to separate him from his twon how although looks similar plays a different style and position. Owen is not a mid-fielder either which will add to the flavour.

"unless the umpires are not smart enough"

You might have hit the nail on the head there TC! I got 2 votes in a match against VH once, when it should have been my brother, Instead of getting it right they gave me 2 and my brother 1 just to cover basis. I got more votes than kicks that day!!!

i would expect owen love to finish very high in the votes, watched him in the bays vs Victor game, anyone that can use explosive pace to run from full back around most of a victor team and finish off with a goal from the pocket, would def poll votes.

Another from the bay, a dark horse, Scott Baggs, having his best year for a long time and being the captain of the club with great leadership he would have to poll some votes.

I also expect Brad Yeomans of goolwa to poll votes, but not get close to winning, he misses a few games due to work commitments i think, but when i have seen him play he uses the ball very well and can make some players look stupid.

On the mail medal topic, my tip is Jacob Baggs. Wins plenty of the ball and very much reminds me of Chris Judd. (except the GSFL isn't quite up to AFL standard)

After round 7, my top five for the Mail Medal are Mitch Portlock, Jon Eagelton, Owen Love, Shaun Maxfiled and Nathan Duffield.
Also, what the hell is going on at South Adelaide? The resignation of John Cahill, how many players are going to walk?

I can't believe he's pulled the pin. After talking to a couple of players who were there last night apparently before and during training it was just business as usual and then afterwards he called them all in and told them that he won't be going on. Just when you thought nothing more could go wrong this happens!

Cant believe this has happened! This club needed stability, someone to stick thru the tough times not abandon ship again. I hope it wasnt a club based decision by the board to move him on.

South are in some serious trouble now. Without any stability in the past year, they had a plan and it was going to take time to change the club around. These things dont happen overnight! I will wait with baited breathe to find out the real reason why Johns pulled the pin!! Disappointing news!

MT COMPASS V SAINTS - Mt Compass 50+ points, season over for saints, may aswel stack the b grade see if they can get to the finals
LANGHORNE CK V YANKALILLA - Creeks by 50+, way to strong for yank even with Koster
ENCOUNTER BAY V WILLUNGA - Bays by 5+ points in the upset of the year, bays with everything to gain and willunga with everything to loose
STRATHALBYN V VICTOR HARBOR - this will be close Victor have hit some form, i reckon strath by 10+ points
MCLAREN V MYPONGA/SELLICKS - Myponga should get over the line here by 20+ points, I hope, i acctually hope McLaren dont win a game all year after seeing those s&%t house jumpers.

Encounter Bay to upset Willunga... that is a massive call. This site would be pretty boring without bold predictions like that though! I can't see how they will go from beating the bottom side by 17 points to knocking off the undefeated league leaders but all the best to them.
