Have you got any of those great quotes LF???

No specific quotes jump to mind. You'll have to buy The Times and read page 63 (have a browse through the real estate section while your at it!) Actually what he wrote was quite good, just talked about developing young players for the future of the club.

So he was talking sh*t? Only reason he has been playing them is because his recruiting failed him this year, if he had his way he would've had a team full of nobodies being paid again.

I think you need to read or have your mum read you the article from the times; further to the point how could any team (beside strath) go out and recruit a team full of nobodies under the points system?

Apparently Mclaren realised their jumpers clashed during the B grade so they wore last years "Crows" guernsey in the A Grade. After chalking up their first win for the season the players may wish to stay in them for the rest of the year.

Maybe Murrayville should be looking at getting some new guernseys to chalk up a win, whats going on down there Brock? Could the wooden spoon be on the cards perhaps?

We've had a very slow start to the season, but we've been improving each week. BDT are the best outfit in the MFL at the mo. it didn't feel like we lost by so much. I reckon we'll have a win this week.

As for my bro, WOW, he quit South around Easter because he wasn't enjoying it, and has moved to Roxby Downs for work for 4-5 months before he starts a post-grad physio course. He'll be back in Adelaide around the end of July, there would already be pressure from Mclaren to play after that!

Luvsfooty realised they clashed, and suggested they pulled the old ones out for the As. Paul Crate, who was umpiring the B's had some big problems picking the teams from the back.

I think its time that the GSFL brought in white shorts for all away games. Does anyone else agree?? Langhorne Creek already wear white shorts in the A & B Grade against Yankalilla but there are also a few other sides that we play that can make it difficult to tell players apart.

Prior to the Saints, we (Goolwa) used to wear white shorts away against VH and vice versa. It was a common sense thing that both clubs agreed upon. We dont clash with anyone now, until McLarens decided to make the back of their gurnseys a very dark blue. Just on the gurnsey clash what was the league thinking when they approved it? (and sorry McLaren fans it doesnt look any better from the front. What a terrible design but well done to the grade 3 student that designed it!).

So that means ALL teams that go to Strath then wear White Shorts and Clash with Strath.

Unnecessary Limb apart from the ODD clashes as u have already mentioned.
A more higher priority for the GSFL and clubs i believe is to tidy up and improve the Goal umpiring standards esp. in the lower grades. From what i've seen, it seems many fellas that do it are roped in at the last minute, are poorly attired and don't have much idea or commomsense about Goal umpiring Protocol let alone making an attempt to get into position to make a correct decision.

Of course you wouldn't wear white shorts against strath. I think it is time clubs sarted wearing away shorts. There might not be any real clashes but the white stands out alot and will heap both sides with quick decision making.

I wouldnt say they are struggling. They won there 1st 2 and then lost there next 2 bya combined total of 5 points. Rumour has it Big Billy Bass missed a shot from about 15 out on a slight angle in the last minute of the game against Compass and they had more scoring shots against a strong Victor Harbor side to lose by 2 points.

At this point of the season E Bay with all there player losses have surprised me the most with there strong results. Good work Billy Bass!

Was just writing this when your post came up BJ...
Don't know if you would say they are struggling. Had two losses the last couple of weeks to Mt Compass and Victor both under a goal difference. If luck was on their side they would be 4 and 0 at the moment. From all reports they had the opportunities to win both games but couldn't either finish goals off (3 shots hitting the post) and were undisciplined (as the paper stated) in the last few minutes against Compass. Could be a very different story!

I did hear on the grape vine that the bays president has banned FM/TC (Billy Bass) from playing anymore in 08. I heard it from a bay player so only time will tell.

Dixon, hasnt played yet, due to working commitments. Unfortunatly a few of the boys that did a pre season cant play yet due to there work and also their bosses, during a pre season trial a few of them got injured and required a couple of days off work. The boss has drawn the line and said to these blokes either work here or play footy but cant do both. So they have choose not to suit up yet as money and income is more important at the moment.

bloddy bosses what are they good for

Bass didnt play on the weekend, he choose to coach instead as it was difficult for him to play and coach in the compass game or i think he has found it to be hard to coach and play the close ones. Im pretty sure he was only going to play a handfull of games this year anyway as he wanted to concentrate on coaching and developing the young guys like prest and lindsy etc

Where does Damian Newham from Strath rate?? has been a great recruit over last 5 or 6 years.
Seems to get a lot of credit within the Strath club but not a lot from outside.
Was an awesome player at Div 1 Amateur level & played State Amateurs.
Just an outsiders opinion

Damien Newham in my opinion is a very handy player for Strath and an inspirational leader. One of the hardest and has been a good player for Strath since he lobbed in there. As you say the Strath faithful love him and fair enough, top bloke and top player!

I think the credit u get from inside ur own club far outweighs an outsiders opinion of you as these people know better than anyone!!! He is highly regarded all around the league!!

Newham is the heart of the team, tough and uncompromising. A total team man who makes the Strath runners look very good. His work in the packs is invaluable to the Roosters.

BTW - someone from the Eagles should be trying to get a sponsorship from that monlithic internet auction site.
Change the club's name to Ebay, incorporate the site's colours in the team's guernsey, could be a goldmine!
