Not every car on top gear is British made either - I think they are starting with the intention of it being an ongoing series, but I guess ratings will decide that.

I agree that it's likely an Aussie version will not work. It's Clarkson's personality that makes the show what it is. They'll need some pretty special presenters if they want it to stand a chance. Apparently SBS have been inundated with applicants. I think for anyone interested in cars it would be a dream job... Doing what Clarkson did in the Jag and AM last night is my idea of heaven...

BTW did anyone see anything about the petition to have Clarkson declared PM?

TOP GEAR EPISODE TONIGHT (in canberra that is)

can the 3 buy a car at a value of $1000 or less and travel across part of the the u.s. cheaper than renting one
one of the funniest episodes ive seen.
eating road kill, meeting the rednecks at a gas station and the devastation of the hurricane one year on. (very surprising)
then they have to sell the car.

 How scary is that woman at the gas station...and her good 'ol boys heehee.
Mags, if you liked that episode I think you're going to love the one (if you haven't seen it already) where they have to buy a normal road car (not 4 wheel drive) each and travel across an African desert. Another laugh-out-loud episode :D

I have NEVER laughed so hard at the TV ! When Hammond had the shower running in the Camaro, PURE GOLD !!
Man Love is OK !! LMFAO !! The wife asked what the hell I was doing as she could hear me gasping for breath, that's how hard I laughed...

What a sensational show...best on TV by a mile...

Those rednecks in the servo though   , WOW, stopped laughing for a minute there...

im a bit sceptical of the australian series also, i think there is plenty of scope for stunts and challenges in an australian version but the cars are limited.
with the british series they have cars from all over europe imported into the UK, sometimes even from the states. i think the availability of cars like that in australia is limited.

new series of T.G is great though. been doing nothing but laugh.

Have to agree that last nights episode was the best I've seen...

When may's Caddy wouldn't start at the servo, I don't think I've ever laughed as hard (well... maybe the exception to this statment was the nude wrestling scene in Borat).

You guys might like to know that they actually look at an Aussie made car (pretty sure it's the series you're getting at the moment)...don't ask what car cos it was just a bunch of letters and number to me...can't promise you'll like what they say either.

As if they ate that cow and squirrel!
You couldn't skin that cow with a tent peg.
That was bull. (no pun intended).
But, those inspiring messages were hilarious, rocks being pelted at them, out came to coca cola to scrub it all off.
Brilliant.
Would've been pretty scary.

Last night here in the UK we had a telethon called Sport Relief and yes you guessed it the Top Gear boys joined in. The did a celebrity garden make-over...screamingly funny. I'm assuming that you might not have seen this and I've found it on YouTube. The guy is still loading it in parts but he also has a load of their other stuff.

*note* keep an eye on what's also going on in the background...enjoy :D
