haha...well considering battams and the other mercenaries, (who are apparently less than half decent?!!) have won 2 out of the last 3 premierships, i'd say they are doing ok...as if kersbrook wouldn't welcome most of those players with open arms!

Spose you didn't see much Finals action last year Rooster as you would have been ironing the cricket whites late August. If ya did watch the finals, you would have known Carter, Lees and Perryman won the Finals series off their own boots (Carter clearly player of the Finals). And if they pick up some more players of those blokes calibre, they will be a very dangerous proposition. Reckon TV and Birdwood are the only clubs dumb enough to give Battams money. Uraidla and Lofty wouldn't give him anything, as they don't pay B graders.

and my point is that seeings as they've won 2 flags they already were a very dangerous proposition.... pretty sure i saw Battams name 2nd or 3rd best player in the GF.... i dont really care what you think about him as a person, the fact is the guy has been one of the best country division footballers running around the the 7 or 8 yeas now... and yes clearly he wouldnt get a game with Uraidla or Lofty, but neither would 95% of the country div players.

Rooster, Duane Hughes makes the best players at TV every week too, and if you know anything about footy, he ain't in their best dozen. Battams was named best against us, but continually kicked the ball to a Blue and Blue guernsey! Actually thought he was nearly Kersbrook's best that day. My point Rooster, I reckon a lot of Clubs do better with spending than TV, but by the sounds of next season, they might be getting it close to right. And as for Battams walking into Kersbrook's side, with onballers Brad Pearce, Chopper Westley, Paul and Brett James to get past, he would be no certainty. Only if he was over 6 foot, then he would walk in.

Ironbank have made some good recruit moves of late and have completed their recruiting for season 2008 before Xmas. Look forward to a good year next year again from the Thunderers. Harey only one gone at this stage. Boys keen as hell to take the comp on and go further in finals. Monday Jan 07 restart pre season @ Thunder dome 6.30pm - All players welcome to come out and get on board GO YOU THUNDERERS. :supz:

No big Rooster, Can say for sure he is on board and keen as ever after recruiting completed. Ready to have a better season in his second year and hopefully play most of the year without injuries. He was a bit frustrated in his first season - expect big things from Muffy next year.

The gaza player being Kevvy kock id reckon!! In his 30's and was always going to the biggest bidder, so well done u thunderers on throwing LOTS more cash out when u have some awesome juniors coming thru!! Maybe spend a dollar on gettin ya oval flat and some water on it... Or make it bigger than an u10's oval!!

i dont think you know what you are talking about ftandsq if u did u would know that the one thing we really lacked last yaer was a big fella to help out stevo and parters kocky has been going to come up for a while and it sounds like we may have finally snared him so welldone to ex and the recruiting boys for filling one of our diffencies from last year :D

Think you'll find IB wasnt the biggest bidder for Kocky. Bridgewater and another club threw alot more money at him then IB but due to IB family atmosphere and the fact he knows some/works with some people around the club it was easy decision.

And like TWE said you obviously don't know the IB team too well because the thing that has been lacking in previous years is big guys. Have had all the smaller positions filled by young rookies for few years now but with no tall support.

Wow, you sound a bit disgruntled ftandsq. Take a few steps back mate... I know Kocky and he certainly hasn't gone to Ironbank for money. He'll be very good at that club particularly for the young brigade coming through. Sounds like some very smart recruiting to me and if the club is developing the way I think it is, there'll be a lot of success to come. Well done Thunderers.

Good to see the Helmet has picked up some handy recruits at the thunderdome, Will have to make the trip up to watch a few this year, Surely the younger brigade can see success is just round the corner and will stick it out

ouch that was a bit harsh fonz the indian was a good servant to the club and did no wrong by us never held us to ransom or anything like that there were a few others around the place that could of taken a leaf out of the indians book ..anyway most of that dead wood is gone now and you saw the improvment last year so onward and upward i say .... 8) 8) 8)
end of rant ..

Well done to IB for snaring Kev Kock, geat bloke and CHB. But i hope the knowledge he passes down onto the youngsters at IB doesn't include tips on kicking a drop punt, his kicking action makes Paul Northeast's look like Nathan Buckley's.
