I’m not a huge betting man but why the hell would you choose the Saints?

Terrible list management call from the Saints if this is true, as silly as Grundy to the Demons a couple of years ago

Money vs premiership success. I know what I'd be looking for ($$$$). Your body could be wrecked after 10 years or so of footy, so why not cash in?

I agree, you're not winning premierships paying that money for 1 player. Your only hope is to think the salary cap is going to go up exponentially whilst he's there.

$1m a season is still pretty good coin though and it’s what’s reported we’ve offered him(who really knows though)

He’s got zero chance of success at the Saints though

I spoke with a player manager a few years ago, this was the advice he said he gave to his clients.

An offer from another team in the same state - want to be at least 30% better off than what you'd get if you stayed. From an interstate club, at least 40%. And not to forget, you'll lose at least 40% of the extra money in tax. Not to mention you'd already be settled in your current team, there's no guarantees of that happening at the next club.

And If I were Marshall I'd be seeking the exit door if I were him. You'd expect TDK to play 1st ruck and Marshall would become a second string ruckman which I'm sure he wouldn't be happy about. Maybe a swap?

Marshall is an 80 - 90% game time ruck. So is TDK.

Grundy and Gawn didn't work, neither will this.

30.31 in 83 games doesn't normally scream "bloody good forward". Has kicked 3 in a game once.

Have you seen him when he spends 10 minutes up forward?
Jumps at the ball as good as any current forward there is

We’ll keep him

Really? I would take King over him any day (as a forward).

Plenty of room for 2 key forwards
Though I do wonder why the Saints would throw stupid amounts of coin considering they have Marshall who is a very good ruck
