Six years ago the SANFL forced a new structure on West Adelaide in terms of changes to it's Constitution, removal of some of the then Board members, establishment of a Nominations Committee and a reduced funding model. Since then there has been a revolving door of Board Members and executive Staff - and a lot of the Board Members who hit skill set matrices have had zero prior connection to the club. In these disastrous six years finances have constricted off the field and the club has earnt 5 wooden spoons on the field. It is very hard for a "mere" Westies member to make it Board level now. The changes made back then have proven to be a disaster. There is a new Constitution mooted and it looks to continue the slide towards a coorporate model that already isn't working because the revenue just simply isn't there.

Just looking at the map you're not blessed with particularly fertile football grounds, bar the Riverland.

Port Road / South Road to Port Road / Sturt Road and surrounds isn't a particularly fertile area rich with top amateur clubs and the Coorong / Mallee areas seem to be more and more about clubs merging than growing.

That must play a role.

Might be time for a recast of the zones then?

Zones were re done only a couple years ago and West received Murray Bridge from Sturt.

Good to see the Port cheerleaders so accepting of mediocrity, Kochy will be proud of his plants endorsing the narrative

Do Port AFL supporters have cars? Perhaps the Torrens footbridge should become a toll-way?
