That rates as the most confusing sentence I've read.....today.

Still living in delusion?

Where the hell did Logan Evan’s come from?
Quickly turned into a very good player.

Think Port getting Geelong home is the best result possible. Geelong have the worse midfield in the top 8, and this is the strength of Port. Think they get the job done here.

The thought of losing is scary, would get a rampaging Bulldogs or Hawks, another straight sets exit would see Hinkley coaching his last Port match.

But get to a home Prelim against potentially Brisbane or GWS and anything can happen.

So what you're say is - its Ports to lose from here? Can't argue with that logic.

Rumors of discontent from Soldo at Port. Little wonder, the Mrs takes off you get dropped and then get injured, hardly having a ball.

Petracca, Neal-Bullen and pick swap for Marshall and Houston then Power bring in Lukosius to play 3rd tall forward behind Georgiades and Lord , possibly even throw in Soldo since it sounds like he is now unhappy in SA as a back up for Gawn if Melb throw in decent pick or another player to the deal

When I saw this in another thread, I thought you were taking the p155 a bit. But now it is here, it looks like you are serious about Melbourne giving up Petracca and Neal-Bullen and a pick for a timid forward and a HBF. Also, somehow getting Lukosius and also getting another pick or player from Melbourne for an Sanfl want-away.

Well just thought I would throw it out there as Melb looking for a forward and everyone had Houston ( a half back who is All Australian by the way )wanting to go back to Vic and to Melb originally . I rate Lord as a forward so thought we could probably get away with loosing Marshall , Neal Bullen also plays a good forward / midfield mix which you can never be short off . Sounds like Soldo wants out from all the whispers you hear so he was the steak knives in the deal for maybe some picks from Melb to help facilitate deal to bring Lukosious as I said to play the third tall forward role as he is SA boy who looks like is keen to come back to SA

Lachie Jones signs a 2 year deal.

Interestingly Jeremy Finlayson signs a 1 year deal, I thought he might have been unlikely to get a new deal but the talk around Soldo might be real enough for Finlayson to be a 1 year insurance policy.

Do Port people rate Lachie Jones. Not sure what he brings or role he has made his own. Every time i watch he seems fumbly and doesnt really impact games

Yes, at times he can be fumbly ( certainly was early in the year ) but he has pace to burn and is playing the lock down role well. If he didn't play his role nobody would be talking about Houston and Farrell in the light they do, Jones' work allows them to do what they do.

I've never rated him and still don't think he's in Port's best 22. Too slow/not agile enough to be a shut down defender on a small forward and kicking isn't good enough to be a running/ball using defender. I think he is the weak link in Port's defence.

I'm interested in your thoughts on him being slow and IMO he's not in there for his kicking, he is the lockdown and our back 6/7 is working a treat at the moment.

Leg speed - not slow.
Decision making - a little slow
Fumbly - makes him slower

Total package - a bit on the slow side.

He gets found out when he plays on small, crumbing type forwards with great leg speed IMO.

Most defenders do!

We don't have many like him on the list. Williams is even slower and not AFL fit, Sinn is more or the high half back / wingman and Bergman and Evans fill the third/fourth tall out of their division and Houston and Farrell and the high half back ball users.

Interested to hear your thoughts on how we will go through september given Houston and Farrell are our distributors.
