Hoping the Dogs dare to take it on today in beautiful conditions and what looks to be a quality playing surface.. if we engage in the dour battle of attrition it will just be playing into Sturts hands .. can’t remember if it was last year that we started well and with a bit more composure in the last term might have pinched a win..

9 mins into 2nd quarter and its already game over .
Just confirming we will be making up the numbers in the finals,we simply are not good enough to match the big 3 sides

Its now 12 and we should be at least 4 goals down only your goalkicking has kept us this close.

Big second half for your boys and if the Roosters keep the pressure on the Bays... could be in the top 3 by the end of the day.... but yeh, probably should just give up and go home.

How can i be delighted with not being able to beat you .
Unfortunately until we can beat the top 3 sides we cant be taken as a serious challenger.
Im just frustrated that with now a 2 win 21 loss record we cant find a way to win .

A real belting today in all aspects.. Sturt noticeably harder at the man and ball and with more leg speed and run than us. Willing to move the ball on quickly when the opportunity warranted.. I feel we have gone backwards this year in terms of competitiveness against the top 3. Having said that 3rd spot still in our own destiny and probably will come down to next week. Looking like we’ll be a couple down from todays 22…

This reference to not being able to match the Top 3 sides...

Sturt and Norwood clearly are a bridge too far atm. But Glenelg? They are level.on wins and only beat us by a kick on their oval. We beat North last game and got scant respect from some supporters, and yet they turn up and beat the Bays today.
We must be doing something right.
Clearly some won't bother turning up next week as we obviously can't match Glenelg.

Sometimes our supporters don't give credit where due. We beat North last game, and they turn up and beat the Bays. We must be doing something right.

Grrrrrr....

Thats my take on it... its certainly not Norwood, Sturt and then the rest. or Nwd, St the Bays and then a gap.

North have beaten both Sturt and Glenelg. The Bays got hold of Norwood last game. Centrals have beaten or been competitive with all of those.

The feedback from Sturt supporters today was one of satisfaction of a good performance against a good side, not an expectation that it was a roll up and win type game. The respect for Centrals is strong, shame some of it own supporters don't seem to agree.

You’re right.. it’s Sturt and Norwood I feel like we’ve been outclassed against. We weren’t that far off Sturt in the 1st semi last year but they’ve been way too good both times we’ve met this year. Still time for us to turn it around though and no better time then next week.. Assume Howe was concussed?

I think the most disappointing thing about today (as it has been whenever we've played Sturt or Norwood this season) is Centrals haven't even been competitive in these games.

At times today Sturt were just playing with Centrals - especially the repeated occasions where they were just chipping it back and forward across Centrals half forward line with no resistance.

Then there was the time Centrals just gifted Sturt goals through woeful defence and easy turnovers.
They don't keep me here because I'm gorgeous and 5'10

A common theme in our games this year whenever we go slow with ball movement against the best sides
particularly into the forward line WE LOSE .Our best results have come when we move the ball quickly

You do understand there was another team out there who did a good job of stopping us doing exactly that?

Disagree.. it’s a choice often not to do that..there were numerous opportunities to get the ball in to a less congested forward line if they wanted to. I get it you don’t take that option when you have a spare behind the ball and are kicking to a 2 v 3 scenario.. but that wasn’t always the case. Then again I’m not a coach so probably simplifying it too much..
