On another side note, could be an interesting week for Juniors.. until this morning Elizabeth forecast was 38 for Saturday morning.

Critical 2nd week of matches heading into finals.. Eyre Royals with a Day 1 lead would leap frog North Pines into 1st place.. North Pines only 26 runs behind Craigmore on first innings.

The big one though - Angle Vale rolled Virginia for 45 and passed the runs before stumps, leading by 12 - Salisbury West in knocked over ATCO Black for 75 and are 0/8 in reply.. if the week is called off, Angle Vale will jump Salisbury West for the 4th and last finals spot! Westies have been solid all year, crazy to think they may miss now.

If the sides play, it'll be a race to outright results - If Virginia Black lose outright, and bad enough, they could well slip from 3rd to 5th if Salisbury West beat ATCO (which they should).

Pretty happy with our 14s at Enfield, we should finish the season with back to back wins - and probably shouldn't knocked off Westies game before, but dropped catches hurt.. first season with 14s has been a steep learning curve, and some absolute beltings but look likely to finish 7th out of 12 and just outside the finals.

Although, North Pines x2 and Eyre Royals are the strongest sides by far, the middle group of teams are pretty even, and then the bottom 4 are quite a long way off the pace.

On reflection, I've actually liked the format of the 14s competition and playing sides once over the year

Not really an excuse for placing it at Hausler.. move from one unacceptable ground to another. I’m sure another club would’ve had an oval available - or move the game to Westies.

Unpopular opinion perhaps, but no one cared when other clubs had to be the whipping girls to Eyre during their dominance across both A/B grade the last however many years.. should make them stay in the top flight, regardless of who they've lost..

The weather on Saturday going to save Eyre royals in Div 2. SN probably would defend 230 and go past them.

You play the whole year to size the upper hand. While it feels hollow and/or empty, in 10 or 2 years time you sit there and bask in the season that was and celebrate the totality of it all, opposed to one or two individual performances.

Heated out this week has it's benefits - those who lost the qualifying final get a second crack, and those who are in the GF already don't win by a heated out game this week.

Downside is, makes the "middle" finals week pointless (LO grades)

Their run will come to an end eventually, the McIntyres will age. Their 16's had some success this year so maybe a few more reasonable cricketers coming through the ranks, although junior success doesn't always translate to senior success. Doesn't help when blokes keep flocking there from other clubs chasing success, Cant beat them - Join them!
