Couple at odds I'm having small EW interest bets on today:

Quirindi R7 11 Red Beryl - Has had a pretty crap campaign to be fair competing in most of the central NSW cup races. Was a solid run 5th in the Walcha Cup last start just under 3 lengths off the winner, Danza In The Dark which is favourite in this race. RB was held up for a run and the short straight didn't help. Barrier 9 effectively becomes barrier 6 so hoping to settle midfield as it's been too far back lately. Luke Rolls gets his first look on the gelding and while I'd prefer Kelsey Lenton, she's still out of action. $25+ but taking top tote on trust alone. - Good run but again too far back. Half a head off 4th but winner and fave far too good again.

Cantebury R8 16 Imatruestar - Been backing this thing in its last four starts for 1 win and 3 seconds. Back in class marginally, retains Reece Jones, up 1kg over the same track and trip it almost won on last start. Has tactical speed so the wider draw isn't a massive issue although it doesn't help. Anyway, at $20+ I think it's EW value again. - Got backed into $9. Back out to $14-ish, Still interested.

Will have to be getting the momentum building from the 800m I'd have thought to be up near the leaders on the bend

Surely tonight they just get it right.

I've taken $2.60 with a money back for 2nd. Not confident but surely it's due some luck. Adonis Kick won pretty well Sunday. Shinn's mount my main concern.

Former trainer Todd Balfour has been disqualified for five years after 'dacking' a Racing SA compliance officer in front of other participants at the Kangaroo Island racecourse in February.

Balfour, the son of late trainer David and brother of Morphettville handler Ryan, was given the huge whack by Racing SA stewards after he pleaded guilty to a charge of engaging in improper conduct
