Was a terrible shot but in fairness to Carey the only way to get a score on that wicket has been to play some shots and have serious intent. Would have been nice for at least one of the other top order batters to hang around with him.

Big innings for Carey that.

Hi is 100% keeping in the first test this summer but after losing the ODI gloves there would have been serious questions especially from the media if he hadn't got a score in the shield leading into that test.
