A pepper steak pie from Tumby Bay Bakery.
Stopped in at Kimba back in 2022 at the Big Galah Cafe and they get them in from Tumby. I said to the missus that it was the best pie I’ve ever had. Even eclipsing the one I had at Stone Hut circa 2006. She scoffed at me. On the weekend we headed over to Streaky Bay & stopped at Kimba again for lunch. Still selling Tumby Bay pies - and again, the best pie I’ve ever had.

Think its the only wholesale Bakery over that way now. Supply a number of towns up and down the eastern side of Eyre Peninsula. Including bizarrely the Cowell Bakery

If you haven't had a Stone Hut pie then your life hasn't been fulfilled.

In my opinion it's the best pie I've had, we stop every year there on the way to Quorn.

Second this....was there again on the weekend. When my family first moved to Australia they moved out to Wirabarra and Stonehut. My great grandad owned the Stonehut bakery for a period of time.

For those with famileis it has a small petting zoo attached to it as well...free of charge so great for the little ones.

South Gawler bakery peppered steak pie is my numero uno, and I try one in every country town I visit.

I used to drive there from Largs Bay most Sundays for a hangover cure, peppered steak pie, beef and cheese pie along with a family sized apple and rhubarb pie.
