Capital punishment will increase space in gaols, but that’s another discussion

One quick round of capital punishment and the gaols will need vacancy signs out the front.
Simple solution!

Witnessed by my youngest daughter who’s only 10 - we’re still dealing with the fall out there. Same woman attacked an off duty copper moments later. Police took her away, they told my wife she’d only just got out on bail.
Hopefully a member of the magistrate’s family suffer the same trauma caused by this woman, they might then think twice before letting them back on the street.

Bloody hell. I was having a bit of a chuckle at this thread till this came along. Hope they're both recovering mentally as well.

Maybe because of the differing opinions in Victoria over their decision to bail on the Comm games, randomly thought of our Desal plant today.

Anyone smarter than me (confident that’s most) know what the total cost has been up til now and what benefit has been derived?

It would be a fair bit but as we were in drought and probably will be again I have no issue with it. Need water security

We spent about $1.8bn building it and when it's running flat out it's about $150m a year to run. Not sure what lay by rate is but you'd think it would be in the $40-60m range.

Yeah I knew it was more a case of saving it for a rainy day ( ;) #-o ), just wondered what the cost would be by now, which no doubt is astronomical. As with all insurance policies though, you hope not to have to use them but can feel assured by the protection you have in place in case of emergency.

We're just lucky it was done when there was minimal (comparative) debt and not in the next 10 - 20 years when the debt will be big

Dudley wines

Best views and you can practice your tee offs without having to chase balls afterwards

https://www.dudleywines.com.au/

and also the distillery

https://kangarooislandspirits.com.au/

there's a bloke that feeds the pelicans in Kingscote and does a talk each day at around 4pm - it's techincally free but you're politely expected to tip him for providing his wealth of knowledge. You'd have to pay in excess of $40 to do a similar proper tour.. That being said, im not sure if he's resumed normal programming since COVID

Birds of Prey show is also good value

Oh - and the American River Seafood place, fresh as fresh can be - and you can do an oyster tour

Only reason I'd go to KI would be for the marron but you can also get them at Margaret River which is a much prettier area.
Find a place with fresh marron otherwise find the boat back to the mainland.
