I feel we should be trying to score with the older ball. The complete lack of intent is just building the pressure.

On cue Usi plays on. Has barely looked to score all day.

It is a run chase.

Cummins and Lyon steer us home with a 55 run partnership for the ninth wicket. Cummins picked the right time to find some form with the bat. Lyon as usual valued his wicket and was always looking to score.

Fittingly the winning runs were hit off Robinson, the pucking frick after a root up on the boundary turned two into four.

What a fabulous result in a great test match.

Hazelwood who would have been last in would be one relieved man.

Bugger, great test though and Cummins deserves that after a tough 6 months personally.

Difference to me was the keeping, Bairstow misses proved to be huge.

Hopefully get 4 more of those.

Went to bed when Head got out

“What are you doing?” She said as I checked the phone at 2:30 when we still required 80 odd to win and Cummins had just joined Alex.

As TDK said nice news to wake up to

“Any boss who sacks a bloke for not turning up to work today, is a Bum!”
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Australia's last successful 250+ run chase was against South Africa in 2011, Pat Cummins first test match where he also hit the winning runs.

Great game, and you are right about the keeping. Johnny isn't your best keeper but as a bat he should play.

Reckon Ali goes out and Wood comes in? Bit of a pace barrage but Root can Slin the ball and this would meaness bowling required from Stokes.

This is why test cricket is fantastic.

Put the 6 month old back to bed at 2.50am checked the score still needed 51 and Cummins and Lyon in. Immediately thought shit it's 2005 all over again. Tried to sleep but contemplated staying up to watch.....sleep won out in the end!
