5 or 6 handy additions to the South team that played the last trial… of those (Gibbs, Broadbent, Skinner & Summrton in particular) did they play in the previous two trials?

Cheers Doc - so that core group potentially a little underdone? For what it is worth the Dogs squad (except Larkins) all played at least two trials.

Expecting the Dogs to be every bit as competitive as they were in the corresponding fixture last season… which of course still guarantees nothing. Looking forward to the water bag trip!

As well as 8 brand new faces, we welcome Jez back from the Gold Coast and Marcus and Aaron from injury plagued seasons. Overall, a very very different Doggies side from last year. Whether it is a greatly improved version remains to be seen...but the potential looks there.

A decent line up from the Dogs; just Presbury and Liddy unavailable.
Many of the recruits have been given an early chance to impress, including Jai Larkins who i think hasn't trialled at all.

I think Larkins did play in that first trial - just not sure how long he lasted...

Most sides never line up how they're named.

Agreed, he'll likely play down back.

Grant was very good with 9 clearances and 10 tackles to go with his possessions. Looked clean and confident.
Hosko, Nietschke and McLennan were fine and Dudz worked hard.

Newbies... Mihail about the best of the lot.
Munn did okay. Chisholm a long way short of what I was expecting, but I am sure he will be better than this
Little improved as the game progressed.
Larkins and Pearce should be replaced by Liddy and Lange next week.

.Well done to South today they were the better team.
Once again a crap quarter cost us and 3 goals at the end of the game flattered us .
Hosko must get frustrated carrying the load he was outstanding particularly early.
After the promise we showed in trial games that was very disappointing

Frustrated by the fact for the 9th year in a row one quarter of football has cost us.

Have to give the guys the benefit of the doubt though, with so many new faces it would be very naïve to think we would be gelling this early in the season.
