I didn’t realise these changes neither. I wonder why WT sent in the two tail enders before Drew?

In the past, you needed to name the specific players the incoming players would take the place of: it had to be 'like-for-like' replacements. The change to 'open slather' replacements must have been recent.

If named on the team sheet before the toss, no need for like-for-like - you take the risk on where the game sits if you choose a bowler to replace a bat etc. If applying for a permit, that is where like-for-like is supposed to apply, but clubs always try to justify selections around batting or bowling "all-rounders" making the whole system a bit of a farce. Clubs have been advised to slash all likely replacements on the team sheet but don't think this is being done (hearing some clubs flat-out refusing to do so) - they are also meant to provide a hardcopy team-sheet at the toss which is also being ignored by some. Time for a bit of a crack-down in this IMO.

It's never been like for like changes completely

Tony, at some stage of my 40 years in Grade cricket, it was 'like for like'. However, that may have been a longgggg time ago (I am a VERY OLD man ). Shark Hunter and you are right though; once they brought in that you had to nominate full changes BEFORE the match, the 'like for like' was dropped.
As an anecdote, I remember when we brought David Hookes in for either Roger Dugan or Kevin Lewis, claiming 'like for like' as David bowled some spin.
Come to think of it, this may be why they got rid of 'like for like'

Yes, final four sewn up. Very unusual with two rounds to play.

Glenelg has two easy games, would need to win both outright (possible) and rely on Uni/WT losing both or Port losing to Sturt (as they have Bye in last round).

Second spot vital also to get home Semi.

With all the Poms flying home tomorrow, makes it even more interesting.
