We did it a few years ago and to me, it doesn't make an iota of difference. I thought our club shared the responsibility between someone who was a little bit more media savvy and someone who was really good at leading the team. That sometimes isn't one person.
Interestingly, my thoughts were confirmed when Cripps won the Brownlow and made a speech saying he hated the media early on and didn't know what to say. I recall Docherty doing most of the media that year in place of Cripps.
