people only have a certain amount of money to spend. shops being open longer isnt magically going to give everyone more disposable income.

it would start with allowing longer trading, then the push would come for getting rid of weekend and sunday loadings for the staff working those days, and it would end with retail workers being basically slaves. no breaks, no benefits, only hours upon hours of retail hell.

Yep our supermarkets in Clare are open 8am-8pm Woolworths and 7am-8pm (Foodland) every night of the week including public holidays.

It’s what I used to like about going to the Clare races at Easter.
Woolies was always open and especially on race day to load up on food to take in for the day.
