It doesn’t really bother me because we have been a horrible side and a basket case for 20 years. Not one of those years that we made finals were we a realistic chance of winning a flag. When you scrape into 7th or 8th there is a fair chance you will be playing a final interstate and the rest is history.Jim05 wrote:Booney wrote:Turbo wrote:Probably be another 6000 before we win another too.Jim05 wrote:[quote="RustyCage"]6000 days since Essendon won a final
Funniest part is still having a more recent flag than half the clubs in the comp whose fans trot that stat out
Still funny though
It's exactly why it's funny because they feel the need to remind all those clubs.

I do feel sorry for the umps though, more things that make a tough job even harder.

I like it, gives a greater chance of snapping a goal from a set shot in the pocket with the man on the mark not allowed off the line.
The biggest improvemnet will be the no swapping on the mark. How many times do you see a team on a quick break get held up when the original player on the mark takes off to guard a loose player and someone else comes into stand the mark. I really think it has potential to be a good adjustment.
Should be a lot more handballs over the top to a player running into goal
I assume the 3rd one is the Hawthorn rule stopping team mates sheperding the guy on the mark so the guy kicking can pinch 5 or 10 metres. Not sure that is a smart move. That kick carrying an extra 10 or so metres gets passed the congestion on occasion.
If its the other way to stop 2 or 3 on the mark then im not fussed

I actually like this idea, I see kids teams using this tactic and it's really ugly, it's really annoying to umpire too.
There's too many variations when it comes to protection and exclusion zones, to me, if a team mate enters the area his direct opponent should be allowed to aswell.

Every f*cking rule introduced every f*cking year is designed to quicken the game up, encourage attacking play, increase scoring and it's done f*ck all to helping any of that.
666, not kicking to yourself from full back to play on, protected zone, third man up etc etc et f*cking c.
Year Average score

2018 83.5

2015 86.6
2014 86.5
2013 92.8
2012 92.1

Instead of trying to facilitate higher scoring and coaches out smarting the rules simply incentivise scoring. Bonus point for 120 points, whatever that may be.

I think Daisy's actually advocated for a bonus point system in the past.
Great minds...
