The rumour I heard was Patton caught Scully in bed with Patton’s sister and subsequently belted the absolute shit out of Scully - allegedly...

That leaves only 4 players from the top 10 in that draft still playing (Dusty, Cunnington, Rohan & Melksham)

Fyfe went pick 20 so highlighting Melbourne's choices isn't all together reasonable, every club had a shocker that year.

To be fair to Melbourne Scully was really killing it before he pissed off to GWS and got injured, I reckon they made the right pick there at the time.Dutchy wrote:It doesn't get much air play (unlike the Franklin pick) but unreal looking back that Melbourne took Scully and Trengove over Dutsy.

Funniest part is still having a more recent flag than half the clubs in the comp whose fans trot that stat out

It doesn’t really bother me because we have been a horrible side and a basket case for 20 years. Not one of those years that we made finals were we a realistic chance of winning a flag. When you scrape into 7th or 8th there is a fair chance you will be playing a final interstate and the rest is history.Booney wrote:Turbo wrote:Jim05 wrote:Probably be another 6000 before we win another too.RustyCage wrote:6000 days since Essendon won a final

It's exactly why it's funny because they feel the need to remind all those clubs.
